Review of Deep Sea

Deep Sea (2023)
10/10
Visual Beauty in a Touching Underwater Adventure
29 June 2023
One of the strong immediate impressions of this film is the incredible beauty of the images and art, with the incredibly detailed processing of shadows and lighting. The unique use of particle effects also shows the charm of ink painting. The use of shocking story material, while avoiding many of the legends commonly used by domestic animated films, chose to focus on the impact of depression sufferers and family restructuring on children, paying full attention to the humanistic side.

The film's narrative structure is very new and dreamy at the start, without explaining the full story. The film plunges headlong into the protagonist's fantasy world, allowing the viewer to engage in the inner world of the characters through virtual and real references. At the end of the story, the film shows flashbacks and explains the story in full. This approach makes the film more appealing to the viewer and makes the ending more memorable.
