My Rating : 60/100

Adhura had the potential to become an engrossing horror mystery. The spooky atmospheric tension of a boarding school in the woods, a looming mystery and school reunion after 15 years, all had the making of a brilliant indian show but the generic and tedious writing and forced addition of jumpscares makes it an underwhelming experience. The show is stretched to an excruciating level where you don't even care about the mystery anymore. It has a lot of spooky moments and sometimes its just exhausting through the 7 long episodes. The cinematography and color grading is excellent and the score is fantastic and intriguing as well. Ishwak Singh is such a brilliant actor, the most believable actor in the entire show. But its the unconvincing performances and forced horror which tests your patience. You can definitely try this one for some good spooky moments.

The story had a decent amount of mystery which was well built initially but certainly fails to keep my attention for long. The casting seemed off and the performanaces left me baffling. Baring Rasika Duggal and Ishwak Singh's fantastic layered perfomance and Shrenik Arora's promising and innocent effort, the entire cast has a done a poor job. The subplots aren't explored vividly in the entire show which leaves many questions unanswered. The show is stretched, predictable for the most of its runtime and thankfully finishes its storyline in single season.

Overall, a passable horror mystery for those who are horror fanatics and watch shows ocassionaly, but is a painfully boring show for those to consume a lot of content of this genre.
