I persisted - it's over produced, it's extremely cheesy, it's throwing PC in your face (which will age poorly)...
But the worst of it is maybe the display of the culture - I think mostly the sportsmanship.
I suppose it's the difference between Australia and the US... we love an underdog, a loser who works hard and becomes a winner.
I suspect the US worships winners, and this results in the normalisation of 13 year olds showboating against other 13 year olds in a basketball game. I don't find it respectful/tasteful and it's cringey as all hell to watch - and it seems like the US could do with a little of Australia's tall poppy syndrome.
