Why Thunderbolt Is Better With His Own Movie
26 September 2023
101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure is just an unneeded sequel that's just meant to cash out the original. It does have some stuff that can keep this from being as terrible as other Disney sequels like the decent animation and Thunderbolt conceptually engaging in his show. He is presented as a hero dog who's basically the animated version of Old Yeller. But the fact this is a straight-to-video Disney sequel, it's rather generic with a your typical underdog story and some recycled elements from the first. That and in execution, there can be times that Thunderbolt can try too hard living in his show. That's exactly why I feel he's better off having his own movie, not in a Disney sequel. If you're a huge fan of the first film and would like to see more adventures with the puppies, you'll probably enjoy it. If not, then it would be best to stick with the first film. It wouldn't be as enjoyable as the first, but I can take this one over Scamp's Adventure or The Fox and the Hound 2 any day.
