(1948) Four Faces West
WESTERN
Adapted from the novel by Eugene Manlove Rhodes that has cowhand, Ross McEwen played by Joel McCrea attempting to secure a loan from a bank. And when they wouldn't give him that opportunity, he forces the loan by threatening to use his gun on them with an IOU signed "Jefferson Davis", resorting for the town marshal and his posse to go on a manhunt for his capture. It sometimes look like a sort of a cat-and-mouse game, and the story was very involving, up until the pretentious Hollywood ending. Haven't seen many films that deal with this nature that involve Westerns and "bank loans". Unique and original premise that deserves a look that has more tension than it does action.
