Without knowing the background and actors who played a role in the movie Prey (2016), of course my expectations were quite low. But the interesting thing is, before the film was screened, the chief organizer of the film screening "Horror Londo" gave a little impression of this film: A thriller mixed with humor.

That impression is true. Prey had me hooked from the first minute thanks to its ridiculous premise. Prey tells the story of a giant lion that escapes from a zoo and terrorizes the locals. The terror is no joke, the lion kills and eats the locals as its prey.

Although the first half is quite interesting, in the middle it feels like the movie is too late to enter the search and hunt for the giant lion. It is precisely the hunting of the lion that makes this movie so interesting and full of comedy.

The comedy presented in this movie is inseparable from the presence of Mark Frost (Jack) as the best lion master in Britain. A lion master in a wheelchair is already a comedy in itself, let alone Jack's stupid dialogues further thicken the comedy of this film.

The action from the leads in the final third of the movie during the lion hunt is also well executed. The antics and thrills are nicely mixed by Dick Maas as the director. Although it doesn't feel very special, this movie is indeed suitable for weekend viewing. Light. Witty. And tense.
