Two Friends Embarking on a Journey to a Pornographic Paradise
26 January 2024
"Carl" (Brendan Hines) is a decent, young man who just happens to be in a relationship with a woman named "Tracy" (Charlotte Salt) who is extremely controlling and never lets him make a decision on his own. Recognizing this, his best friend "Lester Watts" (Chris Pratt) openly advises Carl to end his relationship with her and move on. However, considering that Lester constantly gets drunk, is addicted to pornographic movies and doesn't have a girlfriend of his own, Carl dismisses Lester's suggestions and essentially allows Tracy to walk all over him. Then one day, a magical booth appears on Lester's doorstep which transports him and Lester to another dimension that is based upon several porn films which Lester knows all too well. And while Lester considers this to be paradise, Carl is not at all happy with this sudden change of events and simply desires to return to his previous sad relationship with Tracy. The problem is that there is a sadistic police detective named "Rod Cannon" (Scott Caan) who considers both Lester and Carl to be trespassers in this pornographic dimension and is intent upon making their life as miserable as possible. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that, in spite of the cheap sets, bad acting and vulgar script, I actually thought this film was quite funny with both Chris Pratt and Brendan Hines working quite well together as a team. Likewise, having a number of attractive actresses like Rachel Specter (as "Bambi"), Denise Richards ("Autumn Bliss"), and Kate Albrecht ("Daphne") certainly didn't hurt this film in any way either. Be that as it may, while this film is clearly not intended for everyone, I enjoyed it for the most part, and I have rated it accordingly. Slightly above average.
