Father's Day (I) (2011)

Horror comedy is always a difficult target to hit. You need to maintain the required horror elements while also being funny. Evil Dead 2 is probably the best example of this. Father's Day is a great example of an epic fail. Is it scary? No - it's a gross out film rather than anything else. Is it funny? Also no. I admit to laughing at one joke. The rest of it is the level of subtlety that relies on the repetition of the oh-so-clever name of the serial killer.

Troma always has a particular audience, and I've enjoyed a lot of them. But this film is a complete miss. I wish I'd spent the time cleaning dust bunnies out from under the sofa rather than wasting my time on this.
