Housemaster (1938)
5/10
He's way too fond of kissing little girls good night.

Warning: Spoilers
You want to create automatic chaos at a prim and proper all boys school, bring young women there over night. Blame their chaperone and frivolous aunt, Joyce Barbour, whose intention it is to cause chaos, and the administration who permitted it. The young women aren't exactly the prim and proper type so their presence actually becomes an annoyance, with young and pretty (pretty irritating in addition to physically pretty) Diana Churchill, the worst of the lot.

It's 30 something year old Phillips Holmes who admits his fondness for kissing girls good night, and it's a bit creepy as he resembles David Tomlinson. Kynaston Reeves is the title character, a very stern task master, although a minor one, as the film focuses on instructor Otto Kruger who goes up against them. Rene Ray is the other young woman, more of a slight distraction than Churchill. Cecil Parker and John Wood are familiar in supporting parts. A very dated play from Britain that didn't travel cross the pond very well, although it is attractive looking and professionally filmed.
