Where is Joel when you need him? This was one of the most disappointing movies I've ever seen. Maybe my hopes were too high, being a Coen film. I am not sure why Ethan is so enamored with gratuitous lesbian sex with zero-character development. It just speaks to poor writing skills. I loved Margaret Quailey in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood but in this film by Ethan Coen, she is placed in a one-dimensional box with no opportunity for her character to have depth or meaning. I understand this film was billed as a quirky comedy, Burn After Reading is a quirky comedy, not Drive-Away Dolls. My hope is that Ethan will once again collaborate with his brother Joel for another intriguing witty film like they have produced so many times in the past.
