4D Man (1959)
5/10
While there are better science fiction/horror films from this era, 4D Man remains a must-see for fans of the genre

I recently watched 4D Man (1959) on Tubi. The storyline revolves around two brothers experimenting with a serum, leading one to discover the ability to pass through solid objects at the cost of rapid aging. To stay young, he resorts to draining the life out of others, prompting his girlfriend and brother to try and stop the murderous rampage.

Directed by Irvin S. Yeaworth (The Blob) and starring Robert Lansing (The Equalizer), Lee Meriwether (Barnaby Jones), Patty Duke (Valley of the Dolls), and Robert Strauss (Stalag 17).

This classic blend of science fiction and horror, typical of its era, features an opening narration reminiscent of The Twilight Zone. The straightforward and predictable premise is accompanied by dated special effects, while the background music, sound effects, makeup, and masks hold up well. Authentic acting is complemented by an unexpected twist at the end.

In conclusion, while there are better science fiction/horror films from this era, 4D Man remains a must-see for fans of the genre. I'd score it a 4.5-5/10 and recommend seeing it once.
