Writer/director Peter Bogdanovich lays egg with "Nickelodeon". It's a noisy, obnoxious movie. Sure there's a laugh here and there but, for the most part, it's an annoying experience. Many of the gags are too broad and go on for too long. I saw this movie at the Sunrise Drive-In (Valley Stream, NY) when it first came out. I don't think I've sat through the whole thing since. You want to know why? Because it's not that good. (I watched "Nickelodeon" tonight On Demand TCM in black & white. Supposedly Bogdanovich wanted to film this movie in B&W but the studio said no. But sorry Peter, taking the color out of a color movie doesn't turn it into a B&W movie. It just turns it into a color movie without color. It's reverse colorization.)
