I think the high scores are from people with a Hindu background. They're totally biased. The entire movie is a cliche Bollywood action movie that everyone has seen a million times already. It's totally unoriginal and has rip-off fight scenes stolen from John Wick.
The first half is cultural propaganda. It's so cringy that I just didn't want to keep watching. No real character development. Just the tough guy protagonist and trying too hard to make the audience like Indian culture. Don't get me wrong, I've seen a lot of Bollywood movies. If you want to see a good Dev Patel Indian movie, go watch Lion (2016) instead.
The story is begging the audience to like the characters. The action is forgettable. I did stick to the end and left the theater feeling like I wasted hours.
