Michael Douglas is terribly miscast as Franklin, his characterization misses the fundamental historic mannerisms we have grown to know about Ben Franklin. Boring delivery of dialog, Andy Daly was much better as a parody Franklin in THE OFFICE. And of course Howard DaSilva in 1776 set the bar. I understand the global appeal and the political correctness of attempting not to offend everyone, but haven't we had enough of this subtitled nonsense where you read more than you watch a movie ? For gods sake we all read in English what the French were saying in the books this is based upon. The redeeming quality is the accuracy of the costuming, spot on .
