Plotless and boring but at least it's pretty

I was intrigued by this movie and knew it was going to be a pretty slow paced film but this was dreadful. I had to fight to stay awake for a good 30 minutes before it started picking up, only to unfortunately then slow down again.

From beginning to end, this movie bearly has any plot. The premise was interesting because it was grounded in such a concret and precise issue but it took too long to even get to that point. Later on it feels like the movie lost itself with a side plot that has no impact on our original story. We completely get rid of what little plot and character stories we spent hours building and the audience is left with an ending that makes zero sense.

It's undeniable that the movie is beautiful and that's probably it's only saving grace.

The editing of the music really bothered me because of the way it gets cut all of a sudden in the middle of a scene in order to leave space for the dialogues etc. This made some scenes really anticlimactic because you knew that once the music had cut something would happen on screen. It also caused the impression that every shot with music was pointless and could've been cut since it did nothing to further the point of the film.

I think this genuinely had the opportunity to be a good slow paced movie based around a tight knit community that highly values and depends on nature. A character-driven piece which would've followed the plot and format of -by far the best scene of the movie- the town meeting about the glamping project. This is what the movie should've been about from start to finish. With a location that beautiful and characters that had real potential, it's very disappointing to see a film losing itself in a never ending search of artsiness.
