Almost an Actress - Lost Silent Comedy
PamelaShort21 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Fickle Susie ( Louise Fazenda ) rebuffs Lee's ( Lee Moran ) amorous attention, telling him she has decided to become a celebrated actress. While out running an errand in town a director ( Max Asher ) of a nearby moving picture company spots her, offering her the leading lady role having just lost his main actress after she broke her false teeth!. Susie's first role has the villain trying to set her on fire , meanwhile Susie's brother Benny ( Bobby Vernon ) has gone for help. Soon the firemen arrive and put out the fire . Ruining the big scene they are chased away by the film crew. Susie is next tied up on the beach with tide coming in fast for the film's exciting climax , but this time the sheriff arrives and arrests everyone leaving Susie to drown. Luckily, Lee is nearby and springs into action saving Susie just in time and when the director offers the exhausted girl a permanent job in films she falls into Lee's arms declaring "Never Again!"

Moving Picture World described this as "A very laughable production of the low comedy type, full of chuckles and free from offense.. The scenes are of burlesque nature and furnish plenty of genuine amusement."

Sadly this now lost early silent comedy had Lon Chaney playing the role of the Moving Picture Company's cameraman.
