PamelaShort19 February 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Former newsboy and jockey, Joe Braxton ( David Higgins ) decides to visit New York after he becomes a millionaire rancher in the West. In the city, he soon becomes the victim of swindler Tom Linson ( Hal Clarendon ) and socialite Viola Grayson. Linson embezzles Braxton's old employer, Colonel Downs ( E. L. Davenport ), and attempts to tarnish young Eleanor ( Betty Gray ), the colonel's daughter. When Eleanor learns that Linson intends to destroy Joe on the stock exchange, she warns him, disregarding Linson's threat to ruin her reputation. Eleanor is too late, but Joe recovers his losses by riding Mongrel to victory in the Kentucky Futurity, after having stacked his last dollar on the horse's success.

This 1916 comedy/drama was filmed on locations at the Saratoga Race Track, Saratoga Springs and New York city for the Famous Players Film Company. Jack Pickford had a role playing Jockey Jones. Sadly this film is now listed as unknown.
