Unfortunately, just a remnant of "The Prince of Pep" seems to have survived, and although this is the major dish on the Alpha DVD, spectacularly entitled "The PRINCE OF PEP" in huge letters, this Richard Talmadge adventure certainly runs no more than thirty or forty minutes. I didn't time it, but the supporting feature, "Hidden Aces" is obviously complete and it unwinds for at least sixty minutes, possibly more. The total running time of the disc is given as ninety minutes. On the next occasion that I run "Hidden Aces" - which will be soon, it's a wonderful film - I'll time it. And then all I will have to do is a little subtraction - unless someone beats me to it. I hope they do, because "Hidden Aces" seems to be complete - and it's really glorious fun! Of curse, Talmadge does do some of his famous stunts in "The Prince of Pep", but I found the remnant of the story so difficult to follow, I will not be watching it again real soon, that's for sure! As I said from the start, what we have here is a good print, but it's just a hard-to-follow selection of the original action1
