Delightful farcical romance.
David-24019 April 1999
This is a fast paced and beautifully shot little fantasy about a white girl raised by a Persian aristocrat, who escapes an arranged marriage to find romance in Paris. Although both Persia and Paris look remarkably like Los Angeles, the film still holds together to entertain and even delight.

Primary credit for this goes to Louise Lovely, who is spirited, sexy and very funny as the girl. She is also luminously beautiful. This is one of only six of her films known to be in existence - a tremendous loss as she made some 40 films.

Also of note here is the performance of director Rupert Julien as the villain. A trivial note here is that both he and Louise were Australian.
