Fragmentary Roach Davidson comedy.
Mozjoukine26 December 2011
We can only regret that this departure from the standard Max Davidson two reelers exists only as fragments. The surviving (tinted) clips make it look like the more elaborate production values, that collaboration with MGM were providing, got a good work out here.

There's also the novelty of seeing Oliver Hardy teamed with Max, as leads.

The pair are prospectors who come to the big city and are join a couple of city women at a hotel dinner, which develops into a pie throwing contest.

One of the things that the archive movement can be proud of is their resurrection of Max.

Hal Roach and Oliver Hardy
Single-Black-Male27 October 2003
Whilst developing the 'Our Gang' product, the 35 year old Hal Roach achieved some success with Oliver Hardy when he teamed him up with Stan Laurel. This was another commodity in his conveyor belt of creativity, and would explode onto our screens once talking pictures was fully realized.
