The Most Annoying Spurned Suitor In The World
alonzoiii-115 March 2011
Poor Walter Catlett messes up the wedding of Joyce Compton and, after botching his suicide attempt, rides along on her honeymoon at Aguas Caliente. Can he get for himself some CALIENTE LOVE at the Casino, or will someone give him the sound thrashing he needs?

This is an OK short with pretty high pre-code gamy gag content. Catlett's character, however, is so annoying in the first part, that one is a little regretful the suicide attempt does not succeed. Things get better in the second reel, when Catlett stops whining and is merely comically overbearing. The best scenes are in the casino about midway through. The gay humor routine at the end is kind of padded.

Catlett is an old hand at comedy, and he needs all his experience to render his character tolerable. Joyce Compton is lovely as the girl.
