A film with a social theme, it had very good music score by Sachin Dev Burman.

The four numbers, "Rote rote guzar gai raat re", "Jhan jhan jhan paayal baaje" "Main albeli" and "Jaane na hai ye duniyan", the first one jointly written by Kaifi Azmi and Shailendra, and the rest by Shailendra, and all of them sung by Lata Mangeshkar, are beautiful.

Kishore Sahu, at his best
sherrvin-12 February 2022
A beautifully crafted movie, specially, how Suraj's character has been developed and enacted by Kishore Sahu. His role has negative shades, but he still is a kindhearted man. Kishore Sahu has wonderfully portrayed this multilayered character. A relatively young Nimmi does well. Premnath is in his usual self. Shahgul, as Meera, is wonderful too. S. D. Burman has created wonderful melodies with Lata Mangeshkar.
