Not Really Funny, But A Good Message
ccthemovieman-126 June 2007
Despite signs in the forest which say, "Don't make fires, "Don't Fish" "Don't Litter," the Little White Man and his dog do just the opposite.

The Pink Panther is a forest ranger in this animated short, and he cleans everything. He even has an "army" of ants help him, so when this slob comes by and breaks all the rules, the Panther makes it rough on him

Frankly, although interesting, there was nothing really funny in this cartoon. It was more of a "message movie" than the usual cartoon-comedy. It's a good "dig"" at the pigs who litter our forests (and everywhere else, for that matter) and or-think rules belong to someone else, not them.

The ending was very strange with the forest turning out to be a fake one. That was clever, but not funny, either

The Pink Panther gone environmental
TheLittleSongbird1 June 2014
Pink Panther cartoons are a vast majority of the time worth watching, and while it's somewhat different Keep Our Forests Pink is not an exception. If you want funny visual gags look elsewhere, Keep Our Forests Pink is agreed not that funny though with a few amusing touches(though admittedly that was the intent of the cartoon, just that it is very different to what we're used to). The ending is a very odd if slightly clever one, and the pace lags a bit. However Keep Our Forests Pink is simply but well animated, minimal but colourful and not too sparse in the drawing. The music as ever is fabulous, the soulful jazzy orchestration fits well and the theme tune is a justifiable classic, one of those theme tunes where no matter how many times you hear it it doesn't come across as annoying. Pinky is cool and likable and the Little White Man is a great foil filling in the role of the person doing what Pinky is trying to stop. Keep Our Forests Pink is very much a message cartoon, and does a great job in that regard, the messages the cartoon contains are very much relevant now and somehow it does it without being too heavy-handed. Considering that it was covering a subject matter where it was more than easy to be that it's quite impressive. Overall, a good Pink Panther cartoon if not a great one, there are both better and worse around. 7/10 Bethany Cox

This picture brought back some not-so-pleasant . . .
pixrox112 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
. . . memories from a few years ago for us, involving as it does an out-of-control self-appointed spoil sport Hell-bent upon ruining the so-called "Public" lands for everyone else making up the General Public. The Pink Panther is depicted here as a self-righteous Gloomy Gus crazed to prevent anyone from enjoying "the Great Outdoors." Camp fire dousing and fishing hole disruptions are only two of his many assaults against Common Decency. In real life, Emerald Ash Borers killed an enormous tree in our backyard. Not having $3,000 handy to remove the dead wood, we found some wood furnace users to cut and remove the trunk logs for home heating, and then we decided to burn the remaining smaller branches little-by-little in a metal picnic fire box a mile from our home. We burned from dusk to dark, when a passing killjoy snitched us out to the Authorities. Soon a fire engine with flashing lights pulled up close to us, and several public servants doused our flames with bottled water! They then informed us that this park was on the edge of our city, and that in our state only material coated with fire-proofing could be burned within city borders!

'Keep our forests fresh and clean'

Warning: Spoilers
This is a pretty good cartoon. Even if isn't an example of comedy, that doesn't stop it from being a quite good animated short. The most relevant thing about it is the subject behind its story.

This cartoon is nothing less than about a subject which, unfortunately, many people don't care or respect or even show any consideration: to keep the forests clean. Why do you think that, for example, so many forests are on fire every year? The fire burns everything in its way. Why do you think forests are often so dirty? Because of this kind of people.

In this short, Pink Panther guards a forest with the help of some local animals. His mission is to make sure that nobody will litter, makes fires or other bad stuff that can destroy the forest.

The famous 'Little White Man' comes with his dog and leaves the forest full of litter and makes fire. He represents what I told in the 2nd paragraph of this review. But at least his lack of respect doesn't last long, because Pinky and the forest animals force him to clean all the garbage he threw.

Not too funny, but a clever cartoon.
OllieSuave-00713 October 2016
The Pink Panther is a ranger at a national park and is in charge of keeping the forest clean and safe. It's clever how he works with the wild animals to enforce all the safety laws, which is to the detriment of the pointy-nosed man, who doesn't heed to all the "no fishing," "no fires," "no littering" signs.

While not a terribly funny cartoon, it's entertaining seeing the Pink Panther outsmart the pointy-nosed man on a number of occasions and nice seeing the cartoon sending kids messages to always pick up after yourselves.

Grade A-
