The plot is obviously pretty ropey but the police investigation is a reasonable frame for numerous sex and nude scenes that make use of the beautiful scenery and very beautiful girls (particularly the main kidnappee Severine). The outdoor shots are lush generally. The elephant in the room is obviously that the high end sex trafficking such-as-it-is plot means some depiction of violence against women. This is never very graphic. Most of the time it is an unstated pressure to comply. Of the two more obviously violent sexual assaults, one ends with the fatal stabbing of the would be or actual rapist in mid attack by the victim. The other is cut away from and seems to be largely an excuse to remove the lead actresses clothes on the bonnet of a sports car in a nod to many an 80s glamour photoshoots. Still, obviously this mix of sexiness and violence is distasteful. Furthermore one kidnapped woman rescued at the end, and some dead minions, means that the big bosses go largely unpunished at the close. Perhaps a sequel had been considered.
