Netflix has ordered a TV adaptation of the YA graphic novel series “Heartstopper,” the streaming service said Wednesday.
Based on Alice Oseman’s series of comics, which originally launched as a web comic on Tumblr and Tapas, “Heartstopper” tells the story of Charlie and Nick, who become friends at an all-boys school in Kent and quickly discover a romance blossoming between them. As they fall head over heels for each other, they realize there is a strong community of allies and friends around them who help them to embrace their authentic selves, but also teach them there is no “right way” to come out.
The series, which will be produced by See-Saw Films, consists of eight 30-minute episodes, all written by Oseman. Euros Lyn is attached to direct the show. Executive producers include See-Saw’s Patrick Walters, Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta and the company’s joint managing directors Iain Canning and Emile Sherman,...

John Russo is a legend in the horror community and one of the original minds behind the film Night of the Living Dead. Russo will be releasing a new CD soon entitled John Russo's Movie Music!!. which will have songs from some of his horror movies. There is also a special treat on the CD--three songs are sung by the man himself!
Nearly everyone in the horror industry owes a lot of their success to John A. Russo whether they realize it or not. Russo is one of the founding fathers of the zombie genre, having created the original Night Of The Living Dead along with his friends George A. Romero, George Kosana and Russell Streiner in 1968. This was the first time zombies were featured in cinema history, although now zombies have stumbled their way into every form of media in the world and are continuing to turn fans...

Rick Baker. Friend of apes. Maker of monsters. Seven time Oscar winner. And that lucky number seven was for The Wolfman, shared with fellow Efx maestro Dave Elsey. Their on-stage speech was great, but the extended Thank You Cam was even better. Both Baker and Elsey thanked Jack Pierce and Dick Smith for inspiring them. Though there were grumblings online that the Academy clip showed the CG transformation rather then the make-up. It is always a treat to see our own getting the gold.
In the best original music category, Trent Reznor won for The Social Network. But who could forget his rivethead contributions to Class of 1999, Se7en, and Tetsuo: The Bullet Man? And Danny Boyle’s nominated 127 Hours didn’t win for Best Picture, but we will always love him “best” for his bloody crazies in the 28 Days series.
Rounding out the highlights in horror cred are nods to Jason X,...
