They're the world's most famous fighting team, they're heroes in a half shell and they're green... But the fact that they're turtles notwithstanding, you won't get much sense of skin tone from this artsy new set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles character posters. Perhaps with an eye on those beautiful The Wolverine banners of yesteryear, these images are all about the black ink, in this case rendered as grafitti stencils, with just splashes of colour for those famous bandanas. For those who like their turtles a bit more comic-booky, however, there's also an image of the whole gang by street artist Mike Johnston.Given the emphasis on cutting edge effects when Empire was on set last year, it seems odd that, while we've seen them in trailers, at this late stage the marketing drive is still not really showcasing the finished look of the performance-captured Turtles. Benefit of the doubt...

A team of fearless Russian Spetsnaz unearth details of the shocking research being taken out by the Nazis. Before they’re able to report on this discovery, the Spetsnaz are savagely captured by the Nazis and detained at an underground facility. It’s revealed that the Nazis are scientifically developing an invincible army of undead soldiers to unleash upon the unsuspecting Allies. If the Spetsnaz are to survive this ordeal, and subsequently the war, they must fight their way through a series of gladiatorial battles with the experimental undead to escape the brutal facility before the Nazis can perfect their research and send their zombie army across Europe.

Time for the latest "Bachelor" episode. In case you missed it, Juan Pablo stepped in it a bit over the weekend when asked if there could ever be a gay bachelor on the ABC dating show. He has since apologized and obviously these episodes were filmed months ago, so let's enjoy the show now, but yeah -- that happened.
Cassandra's Date
Nikki is "level 15" ready to get out of the house and have a date, but she is not the lovely lady chosen for the first one-on-one. We're a little surprised Nikki didn't get one of the early one-on-ones but hopefully that will work in her favor -- sometimes the early ones are then forgotten about a bit because they don't get another one-on-one for a while. It can actually be a huge disadvantage to have an early solo date.
Anyway, it is also nice that Cassandra, one of the single moms,...

Just like last year, the last Sunday of the broadcast season saw a schedule full of specials and finales. Unlike 2012, the specials and the finales split the difference for the top spots. With wins by Taylor Swift and Madonna, boos from the audience directed at Justin Bieber and a closing performance from Prince, the 2013 Billboard Awards (3.6/10) was up big from last year. On ABC for the third year in a row, the live three-hour Tracy Morgan-hosted ceremony surged up from its 2012 broadcast. The highest-rated show of the night. The Billboard Awards was up 33% among adults 18-49 and up 28% in total viewers to 9.47 million watching. ABC aired the season finale of America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.8/6) before the Billboard Awards. The most watched show of the night with 9.84 million viewers, the original found footage show was up 29% from its May 12 show and up 20% from last year’s finale on May 20, 2012. With 8.863 million watching,...

The final Sunday of the broadcast season featured a mix of season finales and specials. The specials won over as ABC’s coverage of the 2012 Billboard Awards (2.7/7 in 18-49, 7.4 million total viewers) led the network to a nightly demo victory and CBS’ latest Jesse Stone movie, Benefit Of The Doubt (1.2/3, 12.8 million), drove CBS to a total viewer win. Both specials were down from last year’s installments — the Billboard Awards were down 10% in the demo, Jesse Stone down 8%. The biggest year-to-year decline belonged to NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, whose season finale (2.2/6) was down 27% from the 2011 closer to rank as the celebrity franchise’s lowest-rated finale ever. On the bright side, it was Celebrity Apprentice‘s highest 18-49 rating in five weeks. Fox’s animated series also had their season finales last night: The Cleveland Show (1.3/4) was flat with last week, The Simpsons (2.1/7) was up 11% with a guest turn by Lady Gaga,...

If you enjoy Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone, catch him while you can.
That's the word from the Emmy-winning actor himself. Having wrapped up the sophomore round of his CBS police drama "Blue Bloods," returning this fall for a third season, he's also appearing in the network's eighth film about novelist Robert B. Parker's small-town-loner New England sleuth. "Jesse Stone: Benefit of the Doubt" airs Sunday, May 20, and Selleck says it could be his last time in the role ... for CBS, anyway.
"Bless them, they've done eight of these that always perform far above what's normally in the time slot," he tells Zap2it. "but they are constantly perplexed [by the thought], 'We're not in the two-hour-movie business.' That being said, that's not the end of Jesse, or at least I don't think so. There are a lot of other entities, whether cable or even feature films, but this is most...

We’ve been keeping you apprised of the casting news for upcoming Syfy TV series Defiance, and we now happily add Graham Greene (Northern Exposure, The Green Mile, Wolf Lake) to the list. I’ve loved him since he was a resident of Cicely, but I’m pretty sure that Defiance will be absolutely nothing like that quirky little town in Alaska. Here’s Syfy‘s press release:
Oscar Nominee Graham Greene Joins The Cast Of Syfy’S Series Defiance
New York – March 27, 2012 – Syfy has announced that Graham Greene (Dances with Wolves) will join the cast of its upcoming drama series Defiance. Greene will portray Rafe McCawley, a self-made success who owns and operates the largest mine in the territory. However, Rafe’s status as the richest and most powerful human in the town of Defiance comes with a price, as he struggles to navigate both familial and political alliances...

Fans of One Life to Live‘s “Jolie” (aka John/Natalie) may want to sit down for this: Michael Easton apparently spoke way too soon at a recent fan event, where he teased a May Sweeps appearance on General Hospital by his longtime leading lady, Melissa Archer.
“Despite us loving [John and Natalie], there are no immediate plans to bring her to Port Charles,” a rep for Gh told ABC Soaps in Depth, in response to the reunion rumor. (But what about baby Liam?!)

Just when you thought that everyone in Beverly Hills was finally headed in the right direction, life threw them a curveball this week. But you still had to give them the "Benefit of the Doubt," didn't you? Even though some of what they went through bordered on ridiculous.
For starters, I think Raj finally realized that Ivy intended to stick around for the long haul. I'm not quite sure he had grasped that concept yet until she said she'd do anything to raise money for his drug treatment. The look he gave her was one of amazement. Well, duh Raj, she did marry you after all. In sickness and health and all that.
In the blink of an eye a massive talent show was whipped up... and with Dixon headlining no less! When that little nugget was brought up by Silver, I just about puked in my mouth. Really?!?
Thank God Adrianna saved the day.

Jessica Lowndes knows what many fans think of her character on 90210. She's well aware that some viewers might believe it's impossible to redeem Adrianna, considering what the actress herself describes as the "very dark, intense" path she went down on season three.
But just keep watching, Lowndes told me over the phone last week. Adrianna has nothing but pure intentions going forward.
"She has an addictive personality and she just lost it when she lost Navid," Lowndes said of Adrianna's downfall. "She truly couldn't imagine life without him."
But this year?
"She really is sorry. She feels terrible. Her number-one goal is to earn back the trust of her friends, especially Silver."
How will Adrianna go about fulfilling this apologetic mission? Look for the character to pick up a microphone again on this week's "Benefit of the Doubt," belting out a single titled "Fool," which is actually a track sang by Lowndes herself,...

Ontd Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen. I must have slept through this pairing. This is news to me.

Update: Damn! I totally fucked this up. I was thinking Cars 2 was headed direct-to-dvd, confusing it with the Cars spin-off, Planes, which is headed direct-to-dvd. Cars 2 will actually be in theaters.
I'm an idiot. Someone revoke my movie blogger license. This is what happens when you drink too much the night before, and you spend all morning in a hungover haze searching frantically for your toddler's Bert & Ernie shoes.

Ok. Maybe that's an unfair characterization. But we are talking direct-to-dvd sequel, and we know Disney's checkered history with Dtd sequels. Kids love them, because kids are not very smart. They have to be told to blow their noses, so you know what kind of audience with which we're dealing.

When the closing credits began to roll at the end of Joel and Ethan Coen's new film A Serious Man, nobody at the press screening moved. The end comes at a rather surprising moment, when a lot of things are happening, and we all found it necessary to sit there for a moment and process everything. One colleague and I talked about the movie over lunch -- and more specifically, we talked about what it means when you see a movie and don't understand what it means.
Not that A Serious Man (no spoilers here) is mystifying or hard to follow or anything like that. But it has elements that may not make sense at first glance. It has a prologue, set several decades ago in Eastern Europe, that has no obvious connection to the main story, set in 1967 in Minnesota. There are a few characters and plot threads...
