The Time Team travels to Boleigh, Cornwall so as to investigate an underground structure known as a foogoo. Cornwall and other Celtic cultural areas have many examples of these caves, but to date no one has figure out what they were for. The team has three days to try and resolve the issue.

Stanton Harcourt is built on a series of old river channels where the Thames flowed 200,000 years ago. At the site of a local land fill huge numbers of bones belonging to a range of extinct animals have been found. The Time Team come to aid hard pressed local diggers in locating the the exact river channel hence allow them to reconstruct the ancient landscape.

The team travel to Northern Ireland to the site of the Navan fort, a series of complex earth works dating back to the earliest human occupation. They are looking to confirm a persistent legend that the site was the power base of an early king and he at one point had three separate strong holds in the area even though only two have ever been found.
