Raye had already made history going into the Brit Awards ceremony on Saturday, having been the first artist to rack up seven nominations. Now, the singer has smashed another record, taking home six awards — Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&b Act, Best New Artist, Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year; she lost Best Pop Act to Dua Lipa. The previous record of four has only been achieved by Harry Styles, Adele, and Blur.

David Lee Roth is in full vendetta mode these days. After hitting back at Sammy Hagar last week, he’s now turned his attention to Wolfgang Van Halen.
The longtime Van Halen singer posted a YouTube video on Wednesday (January 24th) deriding the son of the late Eddie Van Halen. The clip starts out with a conversation between Diamond Dave and “Jesus Christ” that metaphorically suggests that Wolfgang benefitted from nepotism when he was tapped to play bass in Van Halen as a teenager back in 2007.
The immature Jesus voice says, “Bro, I just want people to know … I got this job because of my talent. I woulda had this job anyway even if my dad wasn’t God.”
Then, Dlr goes into a long story about how Wolfgang complained about not getting enough attention from the singer, and that the young Van Halen supposedly mistook the band’s accountants...

Raye’s debut album, My 21st Century Blues, underwent a symphonic reinvention late last month when the singer performed the record in its entirety at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Joined by the Heritage Orchestra and the Flames Collective, a 30-piece gospel choir, the British musician captured those new and elevated arrangements for the recently released live album My 21st Century Symphony (Live at the Royal Albert Hall).

Andrea Evans, the popular soap opera star known for her turns as Tina Lord on ABC’s One Life to Live and Rebecca Hotchkiss on NBC/DirecTV’s Passions, has died. She was 66.
Evans died Sunday at her home in Pasadena after a battle with breast cancer, casting director Don Carroll told The Hollywood Reporter.
Evans came to fame by playing Tina — People magazine nicknamed her “Daytime’s Diva of Dirt” — on One Life to Live from 1979-81 and from 1985-90. However, she had to abruptly quit the soap after a stalker accosted her in the lobby of the show’s Manhattan studio in 1987 and later sent her death threats, some of them written in blood.
The fear “forever changed me. There’s no way it could not,” she told People in 2008.

It’s ironic how Raye’s hardest song to sing is also the one she has to perform the most. “People are like, ‘She sounds so out of breath.’ I’m like shut the fuck up! Where do I breathe?” she tells Rolling Stone with a laugh about her smash hit “Escapism.” “Tell me where to breathe!”
Since the song’s release late last year, the track has garnered 507 million streams and counting on Spotify. With its key changes and rapid raps, it’s one of the most interesting hits...

Clint Howard – son of Rance, brother of Ron, uncle of Bryce, etc. – has been acting since he was a child, and over the decades has racked up over 250 credits, from Star Trek and The Andy Griffith Show to The Wraith, Carnosaur, Ticks, Little Nicky, Apollo 13, a couple Silent Night, Deadly Night sequels, Rob Zombie’s Halloween, 3 from Hell, and Solo: A Star Wars Story. You’ve almost certainly seen him around. His most recent credit was in the Nicolas Cage film The Old Way… and one of his most popular roles came in the 1995 horror comedy Ice Cream Man (watch it Here). Ice Cream Man has developed a strong cult following in the years since its release, and Howard is aiming to bring the audience more killer ice cream man action. He took to Instagram to reveal that he recently got some collaborators together for a reading of the Ice Cream Man sequel script!

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Raye unleashed an emotional, powerful rendition of her recent single “Ice Cream Man.” The British Ghanian singer-songwriter performed the song on a white grand piano with the accompaniment of a six-piece string section, and allowed her soulful vocals to lead the way.
“Ice Cream Man” comes off Raye’s recent album My 21st Century Blues, which dropped in February. The LP marked the musician’s long-awaited debut, following her success co-writing standout singles for the likes of Beyoncé, Little Mix, Madison Beer and Charli Xcx.

Warning: This video depicts themes of sexual violence and may be triggering for some viewers.
Raye had to grapple with the feelings of being sexually assaulted on her own — and she doesn’t want other survivors to have to do the same. On Wednesday, the “Escapism” singer released a powerful, harrowing, self-directed video for “Ice Cream Man,” her My 21st Century Blues track that details her experiences with sexual assault.
The video opens with a makeup-less Raye walking into a restroom and locking herself in a stall to cry on the floor.

Giving a shoutout to India and his fans here, American rapper Tyga gave a sweet ‘Taste’ of his chartbusters such as ‘Ice Cream Man’ and ‘Hookah’ to name a few, which created a tizzy at the Vh1 Supersonic on its penultimate day on Saturday.
An hour before his performance commenced, fans of all ages thronged around the main stage area leaving behind their food and drinks to catch a glimpse of the rapper at the Mahalakshmi Lawns here.
Dressed in a black T-shirt, faux leather pants and a jacket the rapper looked every-inch dapper as he performed his popular tracks such as ‘Macarena’, ‘Taste’, ‘Swish’, ‘Hookah’, ‘Ice Cream Man’, ‘Loco Contigo’, ‘Dip’ and ‘Rack City’.
Amidst the performance, Tyga, which is the short form of Thank You God Always, gave a shout out to the country and said: “I love you all” and “I love India”.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall of the Polydor boardroom when the suits hear this exceptional debut from Raye. I like to picture jaws dropping so hard and fast they shatter the corporate table that had been her glass ceiling for so long. Rachel Keen was signed to the label for six years, during which she was asked to churn out formulaic dance hits. Meanwhile, the songs she wrote from the heart were either left to collect dust or rejigged for other artists. In 2021, she tweeted about her distress and left Polydor to make My 21st Century Blues as an independent artist. And you can feel the adrenalin rush of anger, joy and freedom pulsing through every one of the record’s 13 invigorating tracks.
If you heard the advance single “Hard Out Here”, you’ll be familiar with the exhilarating sound of a woman calling out those who have treated her badly.

For Raye, there are no longer any ifs, ands, and buts to what she can and can’t do with her career. On Friday, the British Ghanian singer-songwriter will release My 21st Century Blues, a long-awaited debut from an artist who has co-written standout singles for the likes of Beyoncé, Little Mix, Madison Beer, and Charli Xcx. It’s also a cathartic starting point for a singer who has long fought for her independence in music.

The Shade Room shared the video on Instagram on Thursday, May 27, and Kylie was swift to address the claim. The cosmetics mogul set the record straight by commenting, ".. this never happened." Victoria's original video was captioned, "being a model isn't always as fun as it seems...

CW: Sexual harassment, grooming
This week saw a wave of sexual misconduct allegations against men of varying positions in the comic book industry. The first came from artist Aviva Artzy, followed up by artist and writer Kate Leth, with support from the wife of the late Darwyn Cooke, Marsha Cooke, and convention organizer Andrea Demonakos, accusing Cameron Stewart of grooming underage girls. Grooming is when an older person establishes a relationship with a usually underage one, with the intention of developing a sexual relationship in the future. As a result of this, Stewart, the one time Batgirl co-writer and Seaguy artist, was let go from a previously unannounced DC project and had a variant cover for Image’s Ice Cream Man canceled.
Later, former Dark Horse editor Brendan Wright was accused by former colleague Bekah Caden of an extended campaign of sexual harassment and stalking. Wright left Dark Horse in...

A new live-action adaptation of Image Comics 18-issue horror anthology title "Ice Cream Man", created by W. Maxwell Prince and Martin Morazzo, has been ordered by digital streaming service Quibi, to be produced by Universal Content Productions:
"...chocolate, vanilla, existential horror, drug addiction and musical fantasy. There's a flavor for everyone, in these genre-defying 'one-shot' tales of sorrow, wonder and redemption.
"Each installment features its own cast of strange characters, dealing with their own special sundae of suffering. And on the periphery of all of them, like the twinkly music of his colorful truck, is the 'Ice Cream Man'—a weaver of stories, a purveyor of sweet treats. Friend. Foe. The man who, with a snap of his fingers—lickety split!—can change the course of your life forever..."

The Ice Cream Man is coming to Quibi — but it’s not the kind of ice cream man that serves Bomb Pops and soft serve. As previously reported, Universal Content Productions (Ucp) was developing a series based on Image Comics’ popular horror-fantasy series created by W. Maxwell Prince. Now, the series has found a home at the short-form streaming platform which is set to debut April 6.
Ice Cream Man is an anthology series narrated by the titular Ice Cream Man. Weaving a dark tapestry of tales from his truck, the Ice Cream Man serves up scoops of pain and suffering to the inhabitants of one suburb town for his own malevolent amusement. The new series will dive deep into the suburban American psyche with stories that are timeless yet current, relatable yet strange, equal parts terrifying and ironic, and always end with a macabre twist.

Ooh, it’s a great week for horror fans, as this Tuesday’s Blu-ray and DVD releases are a stellar bunch of films that will make for great additions to your personal collection of movies to enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Because it is the holiday season, I’m stoked to see Scream Factory show a little love to Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 with their Collector’s Edition Blu that hits shelves tomorrow, and for those of you who enjoy your horror movies with a side of sleaze, William Lustig’s Maniac has been given the 4K treatment by Blue Underground (and the film has never looked better).
The Mangler is also getting a brand new Blu-ray this week, and Scorpion Releasing is resurrecting Death Ship with their new Special Edition release as well. Vinegar Syndrome is keeping busy with both Ice Cream Man and Beware My Brethren,...

Image Comics’ Ice Cream Man is set to be developed as a TV series by Universal Cable Productions. This is the same production company behind the adaptation of Happy!, which is another Image Comics property.
Ice Cream Man was created by W. Maxwell Prince, and it is a horror-fantasy anthology series presented by its omnipresent narrator, the Ice Cream Man. “Weaving a dark tapestry of tales from his truck, the Ice Cream Man peels back the layers of the suburban American psyche with stories that always end with a macabre twist.”
The Ice Cream Man frames the stories for viewers with darkly wry observations about human nature and the cruel ironies of fate. That narrator structure and the twist-ending tone put Ice Cream Man in the tradition of classic television franchises such as The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery and Tales From the Crypt, the latter also an import from the comics world.

Eli Roth’s Death Wish remake is a “What were they thinking?” shoot-em-up baffler from start to finish. Irresponsibly tone deaf, maverick in its thematic ignorance and pornographic in its fetishistic gun obsession. There’s never a point where vi-o-lent vigilante justice might *not* be the answer, always gruesomely inflicted with Rothian levels of fatal body trauma. For a movie that opens with media chatter about how Chicago’s criminal epidemic has reached near-dystopian levels, there’s a shocking lack of responsible messaging under peeled layers of flesh. No matter how much you might want to separate your politics from movies, Death Wish refuses to let you. It’s a dumbfounding example of the exact kind of weapons normalization we *do-f#&king-not* need in mainstream pop culture right now.

Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord – and many horror films to boot. Payback has always been a constant theme, whether it’s a sinister spirit avenging murder, or a maniacal parent repaying camp counselors for not watching her handicapped child. The meteoric rise in popularity of video games and personal computers at the turn of the 80’s, married with ancient evil, brought a modern edge to this shopworn trope. A sympathetic tale of comeuppance, Evilspeak (1981) serves up its revenge under the computer screen’s warm glow.
Released by Moreno Films, first in Japan in August of ’81 and February of ’82 in North America, Evilspeak nearly made back its 1,000,000 Us budget opening weekend stateside. A few good reviews trickled in, comparing it favorably to the high school horrorfest Carrie (1976). Regardless of comparisons, it stands as a unique antique of a burgeoning time in technology and a potent payback tale.

Simon Pegg playing the Devil?! Sounds good to me! The actor has been cast in a horror comedy called The Gathering, and it sounds awesome! I never thought I’d see Pegg as the Devil, but now that it’s out in the universe it makes complete sense. The movie is being directed by Jon Keeyes, and he talked to Fangoria about the project. This is how he describes the fantastic story that he’s going to tell:
“On Halloween night, the devil brings together Mary Shelley, H.P. Lovecraft, Bram Stoker, and Edgar Allan Poe in purgatory to tell their best untold tales, the idea being that whoever has the best story of the night gets to leave purgatory forever ... We've tried to put a spin on the essence of the stories they're most well-known for. So Stoker tells a vampire tale, but it's not about Dracula. H.P. Lovecraft's...

Hollywoodnews.com: Warner Bros. has fast-tracked the David Dobkin script, “Arthur and Lancelot,” a contemporary re-imagining of the King Arthur legend. The studio has already scheduled the film for a March 15, 2013 release, with a $90 million budget.
It was only last month that Warner Bros. paid $2 million to acquire Dobkin’s script in a bidding war that involved Universal and Fox.
As a result, the Bryan Singer remake of “Excalibur,” as well as Guy Ritchie and John Hodge‘s other King Arthur film are both dead, according to Deadline.
Dobkin will direct and produce, with Lionel Wigram with Jeff Kleeman executive producing. Wigram was also a producer and writer on Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes,” so his involvement suggests a blend of action and comedy.
It seems like Warner Bros. is trying to capture a piece of the action-adventure market, and with Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean...
