Channing Tatum knew that he wanted to produce War Dog: A Soldier’s Best Friend, airing in time for Veterans Day on HBO. But the actor didn’t know how it would effect him to immerse himself in the lives of heroic canine special operations warfighters and their human partners.
“I wasn’t sure going into this how I would come out of it,” Tatum tells People.
Now, the actor hopes audiences will take from documentary what he did: A deep appreciation for the remarkable bond between the canine warfighters and their human partners.

Kathy Griffin and Andy Cohen are embroiled in feud that has left longtime fans of both stars shocked.
The drama erupted at the end of last week, when Cohen quipped that he didn’t know who Griffin was, which led the comedian to fire back, alleging Cohen asked her to do cocaine before appearing on his talk show, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. (Cohen denied the accusation.)
Now, a source tells People that Griffin didn’t always see eye-to-eye with Cohen during their time working together at Bravo.

Andy Cohen says he had no idea his recent Kathy Griffin stunt would backfire the way it did.
On Monday, the Bravo star explained why he seemingly shaded Griffin last week by pretending not to know who she was when asked by TMZ about replacing her on CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live.
The video prompted Griffin to fire back aggressively, alleging Cohen asked her to do cocaine before appearing on his talk show, which Cohen has denied.

Jessie James Decker's third pregnancy is full of surprises!
Et's Nischelle Turner sat down with the 29-year-old singer in New York City on Thursday, where she dished on expecting baby No. 3 with husband Eric Decker.
"I do feel good. It's the third time and you never know what to expect with each pregnancy," Decker said. "The first one, my daughter tried to kill me. It was a very intense pregnancy; I was very sick. The second time, my son really took it easy on me. This time, I am getting a little bit of both."
"I had really terrible morning sickness for about eight weeks, only threw up a couple of times though, but it's getting pretty rough. I am feeling a little better, but I still have a major aversion to coffee," she revealed. "And that is my favorite drink in the whole world."

With all due respect to Andrew (John Mulaney), Nick (Nick Kroll), and Jessi (Jessi Klein) the Hormone Monsters are the main characters of “Big Mouth.” Think about it: This is their story. The new Netflix comedy explores how Maurice (Kroll) and Connie (Maya Rudolph) manipulate the minds and torture the bodies of pubescent junior high children. It’s a horror show — a funny horror show, but a horror show nonetheless — and they’re the big scary monsters freaking everybody out. Sure, they’re figments of Andrew and Jessi’s imaginations, but what’s a story of puberty without monstrous hormones? (You know, other than this.)
Maurice gets things going from the very first scene. As Andrew tries to learn about the female reproductive system in health class, suddenly out pops a horned, yellow thing with brown hair, a sagging chest, and a dick for a nose. “Did someone say ‘vagina...

It’s hard for horror filmmakers—or filmmakers of any genre, for that matter—to sustain their greatness. Changes in how movies are made, decreasing budgets, even just the passage of time impacts the quality of their output as the years go by, to the point that sometimes the work they’re doing near the end of their respective careers is unidentifiable as their work.
An argument could be made that this is true of Dario Argento, the Italian master of horror who started out making some of the best movies the genre has ever seen and most recently made the 3D Dracula movie with the giant CG mantis. This isn’t to say his latest output is without value—it no doubt has its fans—but it hardly looks like the work of the same man who gave us Suspiria and Deep Red. His 1996 effort, The Stendhal Syndrome, which...

Humans. Such a savage tribe. Complex beings who view heartwarming triumphs and delusional meltdowns with the same excitement. Life deals a bum hand now and again, which we like to see in our movies – something Janicza Bravo’s Lemon understands. A quirky, deadpan descent into emotional abandonment that tears one man apart day by day. Arthouse to the core, but with detrimental and divisive results. You can only endure so many jump-away cuts and vapid characters before dialogue becomes Charlie-Brown-teacher monotone. “Wah wah, wah wah,” cut to thrown cake. “Wah wah,” enter Megan Mullally. A formula always followed by the same question – “Why?”

Pink and Carey Hart have been married for 11 years now, but like many marriages, their relationship hasn't been without its fair share of drama. While the couple has managed to work through their issues and welcomed two kids together, they've actually broken up twice during their time together. Pink and Carey first called it quits in 2003 after two years of dating. To this day, it's still unclear why they broke up, but Pink told Ellen DeGeneres back in May 2016 that the split lasted about a year. The second time they broke up was in February 2008, just two years after they tied the knot. Pink addressed the split on her website, writing, "The most important thing for you all to know is that Carey and I love each other so so much. This breakup is not about cheating, anger, or fighting. I know it sounds like cliché bullsh*t, but we are best friends,...

Joel Schumacher has just apologised (again) about Batman & Robin, a film that lots of talented people are sorry about...
It may have shifted a fair few toys and given us some great Arnie lines to recite, but Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin will mainly be remembered as a franchise killer. What Tim Burton began with the luscious, gothic brace of Batman and Batman Returns, Schumacher well and truly wrote off with the colourful crapness of Batman & Robin.
The Bat-franchise managed to live on after Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones chewed the scenery into tiny little pieces during Batman Forever, but Bat-nipples, “cool party!”, and Alfred making a skin-tight costume for his niece was just too much for the series to survive.
Nowadays, if reviewers savage a film, the cast and crew come out and defend it. They say things like ‘we made this for the fans,...

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from the first two parts of the “Twin Peaks” revival series.]
On Sunday’s premiere of “Twin Peaks,” fans reunited with beloved character Margaret Lanterman, better known as the Log Lady. The reunion was bittersweet, though, since actress Catherine Coulson had died from cancer shortly after shooting her scenes for the revival series in September 2015.
In the two scenes in which the Log Lady appears, the evidence of Coulson’s battle with the disease is evident: She’s weaker, speaks haltingly and breathes with the aid of a nasal cannula. Despite this obvious infirmity, though, it was heartening to see that the Log Lady is still on her game and possibly sharper than ever. In these first two episodes in which the women are treated viciously on screen, it was inspiring to see that one woman isn’t beaten down or cowed, and in fact provides guidance and offers sustenance.

Wilson actress Judy Greer has been consistently working in Hollywood for two decades now. Just like her character Kitty Sanchez on Arrested Development who keeps flashing her boobs “for the last time,” you always know you’ll be seeing her again soon. An unsung hero on the big and small screen, she’s been turning up in huge blockbusters recently such as Ant-Man, Jurassic World and the Planet of the Apes franchise. She's having such the time of her life that she will continue her adventures with him even if it kills her! That's what I call dedication! It's a fun little promo teaser that is sure to get fans of Doctor Who excited for what this season will bring.
This season is the last time Peter Capaldi will take on the role of the 12th Doctor, and longtime showrunner Steven Moffat is leaving as well. Doctor Who season ten is set to premiere on Saturday, April 15 on BBC America.

Technically speaking this isn’t the first time as E3 was originally a public event, but it was exciting news. Every gamer has dreamed of going to E3. I did back when I was in high-school and even made a devious plan to sneak in if I didn’t get my way. Years later, and thousands of articles published on gaming websites, I finally got to go. It was mind blowing and a total “holy crap” moment for me, but then things set in.
E3 isn’t what you think it is, instead it basically boils down to a restricted Disney Land for gamers.

Before the actor hit a home run earlier this year with Deadpool, he’d previously starred in two other doomed films that had him playing iconic characters from comic books. The first time actually saw him playing the Merc with a Mouth, albeit a very different version than what we got in Deadpool. It was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a film that’s better off forgotten about.
After that he starred in Green Lantern, where Reynolds played the titular hero. Though he didn’t necessarily do a bad job in the role, the movie itself was a disaster and bashed by fans and critics alike. And so, with two swings and two misses, Reynolds set out one last time to try and get it right, and the result was Deadpool – which, as you no doubt know,...

Both a horror film and a throwback to hard-boiled noir from the ’50s, Abattoir is now out in theaters and on VOD and Digital HD from Momentum Pictures. To celebrate the latest film from Darren Lynn Bousman, Daily Dead recently had the great pleasure of speaking with co-star Lin Shaye about playing the poetic part of Allie, filming in a potentially real-life haunted house, and much more.
Your performance in Abattoir was a scene-stealer, and Allie is such a great character for you, so I was really happy to see you get a role like that. When you first read the script for Abattoir, what was it about Allie that jumped out at you and made you want to play that character?
Lin Shaye: Well, the script had a journey. There were several rewrites, and the first time I read it, I was somewhere shooting something, and Darren sent it to me.

If you aren’t a teenage girl, you might not think that Kelly Fremon Craig’s debut, the coming of age movie The Edge of Seventeen, is for you, but in fact, the characters and situations are surprisingly relatable regardless of your age or gender.
Her movie stars Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) as Nadine, a teen outcast who only has one friend at high school, Haley Lu Richardson’s Krista. Nadine neither gets along with her widowed mother (Kyra Sedgwick) nor her perfect older brother Darien (Blake Jenner), so when Krista starts dating Darien, it only causes more anxiety for Nadine, so she turns to her history teacher (Woody Harrelson) for advice, although he wants nothing to do with it.
It seems like a simple enough plot, but Nadine’s dialogue and how it’s delivered by Steinfeld is spot-on, and her interaction with the cast around her (particularly Harrelson...

Annette Bening in 20th Century Women (Courtesy: Merrick Morton/A24)
By: Carson Blackwelder

Over the course of her career, Annette Bening has been nominated for four Oscars. That, of course, shouldn’t come as a surprise because this is one extremely talented lady. What might shock you, though, is that Bening has taken home zero of those coveted statuettes — but this could all change with her latest work: 20th Century Women.
Mike Mills (Beginners, Thumbsucker) returns with another work he both directed and wrote the screenplay for — and it has the distinction of holding its world premiere on October 8 at the 54th New York Film Festival as the Centerpiece film this year.
The movie is a comedy based in Santa Barbara in the late 1970s and is the story of three women — Bening as single Dorothea Fields, a single mother to teenaged son Jamie (Lucas Jade Zumann); Greta Gerwig as Abbie,...

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who took a plunge into Bollywood from the small screen with unconventional roles, says he doesn’t have goals and prefers to enjoy the journey more than obsessing over the destination.
The actor, who will soon be seen living the life of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni on the silver screen via “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story”, said that he stumbled upon many valuable self discoveries while preparing for the biopic.
“The one thing I have in common with Dhoni, and I realised it when I started filming, is that I don’t obsess about the future. I don’t have goals… I don’t take myself seriously and that is what drives me,” Sushant said at India Today Mind Rocks Youth Summit here on Saturday.
“It’s the journey that matters more than the destination. Right now is very important,” he added.

Nick Viall will be the next “Bachelor,” ABC announced during the “After Paradise” special on Tuesday night. Viall was the runner-up on two previous seasons of “The Bachelorette.” The first run, he was a suitor for Andi Dorfman but became known as the villain of the show. The second time, he fought for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s heart, but lost out to Shawn Booth. It’s a bit of a surprising announcement, given that “The Bachelor” and its spinoff “The Bachelorette” always choose a contestant that had competed on the season prior to the current one. Under the Shadow hit the festival circuit earlier this year and quickly became my favorite horror movie in recent memory. It's got an incredible lead performance, a really cool, unique bogeyman up its sleeve, and it's setting and characters add rich, complex layers you rarely find in horror movies these days. Plus, it's straight up scary. The second time I saw it at SXSW was a particularly cool experience, because I was able to feel the entire theater around me squirming in their seats and balling up in terror. And even though I'd already seen it, it still scared me the second time around. Having said all of that, the first trailer for Under the Shadow doesn't quite sell all of that. It kind of just looks like a straightforward haunted house movie. To be fair...

Director Eduardo WilliamsThanks to his unique approach to locations and a rare sense of style when it comes to shooting groups of characters, the Argentinian director Eduardo Williams has garnered attention worldwide for his shorts over the last few years. I spoke with him about his feature debut, El Auge del Humano (The Human Surge), which will have its world premiere as part of the Filmmakers of the Present competition at the 69th Locarno Film Festival.Shot on three continents, El Auge del Humano introduces us to different young men who all have just entered adult life and are physically separated by the oceans. The film follows their movements, their bodies in constant interaction and their ordinary lives. Throughout, the filmmaker adds doses of beauty and strangeness and, as the characters share their feelings, something seems to connect them allNOTEBOOK: El Auge del Humano seems to have been born out of your own shorts.

On the phone from his Copenhagen kitchen the week before Cannes, Nic Winding Refn knows the drill. He’d already brought two violent underworld thrillers starring Ryan Gosling to compete at Cannes, and served on the jury. Los Angeles-set “Drive” was a global hit, while “Only God Forgives,” set in Thailand, was more divisive and controversial.
So as soon as Refn finished his latest film, horror story “The Neon Demon” (which had already been acquired by his “Drive” distributor Bob Berney for Amazon Studios release, one of five in the festival), he submitted it to Cannes. “Then you hold your breath as long as you can,” he told me. “I was lucky I didn’t have to hold it for too long. James Wan once again terrified audiences with his latest horror film The Conjuring 2. I’ve seen the movie twice already, and I’ve had a blast watching it each time. The second time I saw it there was a guy sitting next to me who pulled his hat down over his eyes during the climax of the film and started praying! It was hilarious! One of my favorite things about going to the theater to watch horror films is enjoying the reactions of the audience members.
There’s no doubt in my mind that we’ll see a third film in the franchise as Ed and Lorraine Warren have a ton of case files to choose from. One of those experiences is recounted in Ed Warren’s 1991 book, Werewolf: A True Story of Demonic Possession. There’s no word on if Warner Bros. has the rights to that story, but Wan is definitely on board to develop a movie out of it if that’s the direction that he and the studio want to take it. During an interview with CinemaBlend, Wan was asked about the idea of a using a werewolf in the sequel, and his eye’s lit up as he said:
“Maybe we can go and do it like a classic American Werewolf in London style. That would be awesome! The Warrens set against the backdrop of The Hound of Baskerville. That would be awesome. Thank you! [laughter]”
That would be pretty damn cool! Why the hell not tell that story!? If you’re not familiar with it, here’s the description from the book:
The legend of the werewolf is as old as man himself. From Ed and Lorraine Warren, the world's most famous demonologists, comes perhaps their most incredible and horrifying case: the true story of William Ramsey, whose bizarre seizures terrified the English town of Southend-on-Sea. Believing Ramsey to be a victim of demonic possession, the Warrens arranged for the rite of exorcism to be performed. Not since the exorcist shocked the nation has there been such a such a horrifying account of a supernatural battle between good and evil within the soul of one human.
This is just one of a ton of other supernatural cases that the Warrens were involved with. Wan goes on to reveal that the studio and the writers have a top 20 or 30 stories that they want to tell.
“They have a lot of cases. I'm not sitting there sifting through every single one, but I think, you know, between the writers and the studio, I think they have a short list of their favorite, like basically the top 20 or 30 of the Warren's favorite cases.”
This werewolf demon story could be one of those or not. One thing is for sure, no matter what it is, I can’t wait to see what the next film will entail.

Warning: contains spoilers for Game Of Thrones season 6 episode 5 episode, The Door.
I never thought that having read A Song Of Ice And Fire affected my enjoyment of watching Game Of Thrones. Why should it? There was still miles of spectacle, diverting dialogue and violence to enjoy. Seeing how events were rendered was almost as good as finding out how they unfurled in the first place. Surprise, I reasoned, wasn’t everything.
More fool me. Watching Game Of Thrones without having a rough idea of where the big surprises are coming from is a much better time. There’s no more of the ongoing internal stock-take comparison of what’s stayed true to the source material and what’s changed, no more thinking ‘he’s seconds from getting...

Ever since his WWE debut back in 1990 The Undertaker has been pushed like no other Superstar has. Thus, whenever he has lost a match it has always been a big deal.
Instead of being shoved down fans’ throats against their will like John Cena and Roman Reigns have been down the years, Vince McMahon has been subtle in the way he has booked the Deadman. There’s lots a young cowboy must master to make it in Hollywood, but the prospect of working for the Coens is a suitable spur
At 26, Alden Ehrenreich is by some distance the youngest of Hail, Caesar!’s principal cast, though having already acted for Francis Ford Coppola (twice), Woody Allen and Park Chan-wook, he’s not entirely untutored in the ways of the auteur film-maker. The way he tells it, he had to hustle to get an audition in the first place: “My agents got a hold of the script, I read it and asked if I could go in. The casting people said no, but I asked again. Then they let me go in.”
It wasn’t a straightforward process, he explains: his first go was on his own, on videotape; having negotiated that hurdle, he read for casting director Ellen Chenoweth; only then did he get to audition – twice – in front of the Coens themselves. “The second time I read I was convinced I’d lost the part, and I was bummed. Then I got a call saying to keep my phone on all day; I thought it was nice the casting director was going to call me personally to say I didn’t get the role. But no one called. The next day I was at my grandmother’s, and the phone rang – it was Ethan and Joel. They said, ‘Have you talked to your agents yet?’ I said ‘No’; they said, ‘So you don’t know? You got the part.’ It was awesome.”

After last week's brief foray into the realm of romance, "The Walking Dead" returned to its roots tonight with the introduction of some new people, some new threats, and some new plans for ass-kicking, courtesy of Rick Grimes and co. For those keeping track at home, that makes three episodes in a row now that "Twd" has been firing on all cylinders. Can our survivors – and more importantly, the showrunners – keep up this pace for the rest of this back eight?
All signs are pointing to yes, what with tonight's introduction of the Hilltop community and some more revelations about mysterious big bad Negan, and his people, the Saviors. The episode's title, "Knots Untie," refers to Jesus's uncanny ability to escape any restraint that binds him, though the installment spends most of its time weaving together a complex backstory for the Hilltoppers, who look to our main crew to hold...

For six years, Jason Isbell was drunk at every show he played. During his tenure with beloved Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers, Isbell planned his drinking to keep him on his feet for the duration of the band's marathon live shows - barely. "I had it timed where, by the very end of the show, I'd done just about all I could do standing up," he told NPR in 2013. "I knew I needed two or three before I went on, and then during the show, we'd just pass a bottle around between the band." The routine totaled about a fifth of Jack Daniels per show.
