I guess this is a love it or hate it movie... but it gets more interesting when you add that this psycho movie is made for children, but was rated r. I say it's no wonder

Suzanne Osten strikes again
martinpersson9730 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Suzanne Osten is definitely one of the auteurs of Swedish cinema, and a great testament to the capabilities of female directors overall - being a very clear heir apparent to Ingmar Bergman's masterful style.
This film of hers is, like pretty much all of her filmography, a masterpiece. It is a very unconventional, dark yet sometimes funny youth drama.
It delves into the bizarre and is heavy on imagery and metaphors. Like the film Glass Blower's Children, I would call it a Bergman-style film for a young audience. Very interesting overall, great acting, great cinematography and all around cutting and editing.
Definitely recommended, it is Suzanne Osten, after all!
