The 2021 CMA Awards are on November 10, honoring the best in country music. So as we anticipate one of the Nashville’s biggest nights, let’s analyze the album, single, song, and music video categories to see which country superstars might get a taste of CMA glory.
SEE2021 CMA Awards nominations list: 55th Annual Country Music Association nominees led by Chris Stapleton, Eric Church Album of the Year
This award will likely go to Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over.” He is a previous category winner, winning for both “Traveller” (2015) and “From A Room, Volume 1” (2017). “Starting Over” was also met with great reviews and notched two country hits, including the title track, which reached the top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100. Stapleton’s only competition here will be Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album,” which could’ve won if it weren’t for the whole controversy surrounding Wallen. Historian, broadcaster and filmmaker David Olusoga and BAFTA-nominated director George Amponsah are among a wealth of talent curating a celebration of Black British cinema, the subject of the 2021 Sheffield Doc/Fest retrospective.
The program – titled “Films belong to those who need them – fragments from the history of Black British Cinema” – aims to spotlight the history of Black British screen culture. It seeks to find connections between past and present, and to spark a conversation about how this filmography resonates with contemporary filmmakers and artists.
To achieve this, the festival has invited guest curators who bring a breadth of perspective to select the program.
Olusoga’s work includes BBC series “Black and British: A Forgotten History” and “The World’s War.” He electrified the Edinburgh TV Festival last year as he candidly called out racism in the media industry while delivering the MacTaggart Lecture.
Fellow curator Amponsah was BAFTA-nominated for his 2015 documentary “The Hard Stop,...

Dierks Bentley has won three Cma Awards over the course of his career thus far: the Horizon Award (2005), Music Video of the Year and Musical Event of the Year. However, he has still never prevailed in the race for Male Vocalist of the Year. This year he’s hoping seven is his lucky number because that’s how many times he has now been nominated, but it may be another uphill battle.
Bentley was first nominated for this prize back in 2006, but Keith Urban was the victor. Then Bentley returned with a nomination four years later in 2010, but the CMAs picked Blake Shelton instead. He had to wait another four years for his next bid in 2014, but he has been nominated every year since. Unfortunately, he lost again to Shelton in 2014 and then three times in a row to Chris Stapleton (2015-2017).

To put it bluntly, Elle King was on another level at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

Elle King is having a major moment.
The 27-year-old rocker is currently on the road officiating weddings nightly on her Ministry Tour, but she still made time for a pit stop in Nashville this week to accept a Cma Award for her collaboration with Dierks Bentley, "Different for Girls."
But King really made headlines after surfacing in a series of Instagram photos with country darling and noted "squad" member, Kelsea Ballerini and pal Taylor Swift. The trio adorably gushed over their "Best night ever" and only Et got the backstory straight from the source.
Et caught up with King by phone on Friday ahead of her Columbus, Ohio, tour stop to get the scoop on her own upcoming nuptials to fiancee Andrew Ferguson -- whom she affectionately calls "Fergie" -- and the status on her Love Stuff follow up.

But what are the cast up to two decades on? We take a look at the key players then and now below...
Hugh Grant
Hugh Grant was a respected supporting actor in the Brit film industry prior to Four Weddings thanks to roles in Remains of the Day and Sirens. Things changed overnight after his role as the ever-so-British and lovelorn Charles.

Angelina Jolie is reportedly upset about a new unauthorised book about her, and Jonathan Margolis, author of several celeb biographies, is beginning to see why

Britpop acts including Blur, Shed Seven and Cast have reunited in recent years, but Wener told Metro that she is happy to only relive the time through her upcoming memoir Different For Girls. Wener: "I write full time and I have two children. I was happy with this level of revisiting that period, a reunion would be taking it too far. "There are a lot of people at it. I used to think it was really naff, but good on them. I'd go to see Spandau Ballet, not the Britpoppers." Asked if the likes of Blur would be upset by her book, (more)...
