A movie without a proper storyline...

Alright, well the 1996 Hong Kong crime drama "3 Gor Sau Seung Dik Ging Chat" (aka "The Log") is definitely one of the more pointless of Hong Kong movies I have sat through in a long, long time.

The storyline in the movie, as written by Bing Lo and Kin Chung Chan, made very little coherent sense, and thus it was somewhat of a struggle to sit through all 95 minutes of the movie. Yet, I managed to endure, but as the movie came to an end, I have to admit that I was left with an overwhelming sense of having wasted 95 minutes of my life on a rather pointless and incoherent storyline of a movie.

If you are a fan of the Hong Kong cinema, then at least there are some familiar faces on the cast list, with the likes of Michael Wong, Kent Cheng and even Stephen Fung.

I don't understand what the writers wanted to tell with this particular storyline, but it certainly wasn't a gem in the Hong Kong cinema, and director Derek Chiu had very little contents to work with.

This is definitely not a movie that I would recommend you waste your time, money or effort on, not even if you are a fan of the Hong Kong cinema, such as I am. The movie just simply made too little sense to be properly entertaining.

My rating of "3 Gor Sau Seung Dik Ging Chat" lands on a three out of ten stars.
