Don’t be fooled by the title. While it’s true that “I Am Heath Ledger” is peppered with home video footage shot by its dearly departed namesake, this somewhat hagiographic documentary isn’t a first-person account, it’s not a direct address from beyond the grave. Brought to you by the same guy who has previously claimed to be Chris Farley, Bruce Lee, and a handful of other Hollywood legends who died at the height of their fame, director Derik Murray is no more Heath Ledger than he was any of those other iconoclasts, but — nauseatingly presumptuous title aside — the newest installment of his non-fiction franchise is a tender, worthwhile remembrance for an irrepressible star whose light continues to shine upon the people he left behind.
Co-directed by Adrian Buitenhuis, “I Am Heath Ledger” is far too loving a portrait to be confused for art — don’t expect another...

The feature length made for TV doc receiving its world premiere at Tribeca, I Am Heath Ledger, will be a moving experience for fans of the late star and posthumous Oscar-winner.
It maps his journey from being a Perth schoolboy to a Hollywood leading man, as well as his artistic growth, evident with each new role, using home video, childhood photographs, on set behind the scenes footage, film clips and interviews. It’s a portrait of an energetic artist in control of his own career, always looking for the next creative challenge.

Gone Girl is airport fiction, but it's airport fiction David Fincher (Se7en, Zodiac) has directed with every last fiber of his being, turning it into a film where its story almost gets in the way of its thematic quandaries. News: Matt Smith, famous for being the eleventh incarnation of the Doctor on “Doctor Who,” is joining How to Catch a Monster. Variety calls the role the “male lead” in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut. Gosling’s girlfriend, Eva Mendes, has also joined the cast.

Thoughts by Tsr: Matt Smith’s Doctor recently lost a pair of companions – farewell Amy and Rory! – but it isn’t taking him long to get back on his feet. According to Variety, he’s been cast as the male lead in Ryan Gosling’s How to Catch a Monster. I love Smith on “Doctor Who,” so it’s very exciting to see him starring in the directorial debut of one of my favorite actors. This will be Smith’s first American film, and I hope he comes out the other side with plenty of opportunities. It...

Over the last 25 years, critically acclaimed Nadia Tass has become one of Australia's most respected and versatile filmmakers. Born in Greece, Nadia started out as an actress on the TV series “Prisoner” before moving behind the camera for Malcolm. With husband and frequent collaborator David Parker providing the screenplay and cinematography, the acclaimed 1986 film introduced the mix of humor and humanity that has become Tass’ hallmark. Whether directing Aussie indies like Amy, Hollywood fare like Pure Luck, or theatrical productions in London and Australia, Tass creates works of emotional resonance that charm audiences all over the globe. Nadia Tass is honoured to have a retrospective of her films play at the American Cinematheque (Aero Theatre) in August. If you've never seen them but always wanted to, or if you've seen them and remember them fondly, then now is your chance to catch these classic Australian films (Malcolm, The Big Steal, Amy and Matching Jack) on the big screen in Santa Monica.

When he learns the pair are petty criminals, Malcolm uses his knack for gadgetry to help them pull off a series of dazzling robberies. Both warm and hilarious, Nadia Tass' debut feature won 8 Australian Film Institute awards including the Best Film award. Internationally, it won 21 awards.

This delightful caper comedy took home 3 AFI awards including one for David Parker's screenplay.

The Doctor in top hat and tails? That’s just one of the interesting sights that can be seen when Doctor Who returns with the episode, Let’s Kill Hitler, and it should be an interesting ride when the time lord meets the man that’s responsible for so much death and destruction.
The gallery below provides a peek at the Doctor’s visit with the German dictator, and Amy and Rory are still hanging in there with their time-traveling friend, although it’s fairly easy to guess that they probably won’t be too thrilled this time around with the Doctor’s desire to keep time flowing smoothly, with no drastic alterations done to the course of history.
Doctor Who 6 Teasers – Waitings Girls, Night Terrors, and God Complex!

Tremors? Nightbreed? Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat? 976-evil? Are all on the list this year. And though there were not huge horror wins in sound editing through screenplays, the Technical Awards never cease to bring out the horror veterans. Notably Tim Drnec who contributed to such VHS classics as Alien Seed, Destroyer, and Prison won for his work on “Spydercam 3D volumetric suspended cable camera technologies.” An award also shared with Ben Britten Smith and Matt Davis who both also worked on Constantine.
But among all the winners, the Academy also honored some great loses in 2010. And though they mentioned some of our heroes, Dennis Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Kevin McCarthy (Invasion of the Body Snatchers) and Dino de Laurentiis (King Kong), they did not mention Zelda Rubinstein or Corey Haim. But we will in this last section and the others lost to us last year.
So farewell fight fans and remember,...

Amy Adams recently was shot for the August issue of Allure magazine which will be on newsstands July 21. In one of the pictures that have been unveiled, the actress was topless and only wearing what looked like a white skirt. She used her hands to cover her breasts and let her long hair-extension hide her naked back.
Several other images, meanwhile, showed Amy getting ready for the photo shoot session. One of the costumes that she wore was a voluminous Dior Haute Couture silk taffeta gown. Amy's photos for the publication were taken in Dublin by photographer Michael Thompson. During the photo shoot, she also worked together with hairstylist Odile Gilbert and make-up artist Dick Page.
In an interview with Allure, Amy Adams shared about her unsettled wedding plan, claiming "I've been really busy, and I feel like a horrible fiancee that I haven't gotten swept up in the whole idea of a wedding.
