This now forgotten British-US-Israeli production has the interest of being set at the time of the founding of Israel and does show Palestinian opposition though it's sympathies are clearly with the Jewish war orphans in the care of John Slater and Jamie Smith (star of Kubric's KILLER'S KISS.)
It's rather pious tone avoids making any serious political comment, leaving it in the curious company of the small number of films - MANON, SWORD in THE DESERT which treat this period.
Production values are adequate and the children's plight does register.
