Lousy paste-up video
lor_21 October 2023
A prime example of a 1990s deceptive practice: Many VHS tapes were altered by substituting one new scene and releasing the result not as a reissue but as brand-new video, to keep those New Releases sections full.

This time, superstar Savannah was added in 1991 to the 1988 "Hot Blondes", with the new version reviewed by me here. It took me a while to figure out what happened, but I watched a similar 1990 paste-up titled "Shipwrecked" and noticed that lesbian-action of Savannah and Heather Hart was shot in the same bed (even same pattern pillows) as the scene added to "Hot Blondes" -proof of an extra shoot to provide new material to both old projects (both directed by Ron Jeremy).

Laurel Canyon stars as a blonde who gains psychic powers after she has a fall that knocks her unconscious. Her boyfriend Don Fernando takes her to a neurologist Scott Irish who's still studying for tests (not explained why he's practicing medicine and still taking tests), and at this point the show gets mixed up thanks to the substitution. He has another patient Tammy Reynolds and asks her to steal a test from her boss for him. We get to see Scott's sex scene with Tammy, but the followup scene of Tammy f*cking her boss is omitted here, with the new Heather/Savannah scene substituted. In that scene she plans to steal a test, but ultimately this substitution makes no sense.

It's a lousy video either way, with Don and Laurel's plan to make a fortune out of her ability to predict the future by playing the ponies thwarted when she hits her head again and loses her extrasensory powers.
