A contractual obligation cartoon

Warning: Spoilers
This is a Mister Magoo short done by the UPA Studios. There will be spoilers ahead:

I can't truly say that any of the Magoo shorts are BAD, but there are some which are stale and tedious beyond description. This is one of those shorts.

The plot, such as it is, revolves around Magoo mistaking a Tarzan-like show on TV for a talent competition and deciding to compete! Naturally, it wouldn't be a Magoo short if he wound up anywhere near where he intended to go (though that actually happened a few times) so Magoo winds up at a dentist's office and almost immediately unsettles dentist and staff with his "act".

Magoo is eventually ushered into the alley, where, inexplicably, passersby throw money instead of rocks as Magoo does his "performance. Bits and pieces here have seen service to better effect in other shorts. Magoo heads home with money, convinced he won first prize in the "talent show".

The Magoo theatricals and a Magoo feature film are now available on DVD through Shout! Factory. The box set is excellent.
