Woody Woodpecker in the Foreign Legion
TheLittleSongbird3 August 2017
Was very fond of Woody Woodpecker and his cartoons as a child. Still get much enjoyment out of them now as a young adult, even if there are more interesting in personality cartoon characters and better overall cartoons.

That is in no way knocking Woody, because many of his cartoons are a lot of fun to watch and more and also still like him a lot as a character. He is a lot of fun in 'Socko in Morocco' and never comes over too much of a jerk. While there is a preference for Wally Walrus, Buzz Buzzard is a worthy foil, formidable while taking the laughs well with great reactions to Woody's trickery.

'Socko in Morocco's' story in terms of basic structure is typical for Woody and Buzz, and the setting and premise is not new in animation either. The dancing girl also is a little on the bland and with little to do side. That doesn't stop 'Socko in Morocco' from being entertaining and Woody and Buzz working well together.

As ever, the animation is great. The characters are well drawn, but even better are the rich colours, meticulously detailed backgrounds and smooth backgrounds.

Music is another strength here. It's characterful, lushly orchestrated and is not only dynamic with the action it even enhances it. The whole cartoon goes at a snappy pace, especially in the second half, and there are some very well-timed and extremely funny gags and a great atmosphere.

In summary, very enjoyable. 8/10 Bethany Cox

This picture documents the rampant polygamy . . .

. . . infesting Northern Africa and the so-called "Middle East." SOCK OH IN MOROCCO suggests that the gene pool over there must be drained to safeguard the world against the egregious precepts pervading these perverse precincts. In total violation of the U. N. Charter, the buzzard sheikhs regard women as private property, to be squelched, sequestered and stymied under lock and key. Obviously, the perceptive Universal filmmakers correctly guessed that if this counter culture was allowed to perpetuate their trashy, tainted and tarnished traditions any longer, one thing would lead to another, collapsing Western Civilization. Tragically, this clarion call for Common Sense went unheeded, allowing the Big Oil Cartel to extort trillions from the civilized nations, using their ill-gotten gains to subsidize hijackings, mass shooters and the purchase of professional golf. Will the NFL or the NBA be next?
