As a fan of history, mythology, and fantasy "Mystic Knights" show pulled me in from the get-go. It has semi-decent scripting, the costumes are fantastic (there are exceptions), it has pretty good acting, and the heroes and villains all play well off each other.

SCRIPTS--Half a script is pretty great, the other half falls flat, but its all mixed together, meaning many episodes turn out so-so. Also, some of the key players are repeatedly being given dead lines (King Conchobar and Angus for instance) they need to be given something... more. I'm not sure what but the writers should be able to come up with something. ACTING--Apart from some over acting by villagers (horrid lines they end up putting too much effort into), casting did extremely well in choosing their leads and so on. Everyone, good and bad, works well together! COSTUMES/WEAPONS--The everyday clothes that everyone wears are spectacular! Mystic Knight armor that falls short are Deirdre's and Garrett's. A chainmail bikini would probably have better protection in her case... and wouldn't look as plastic; his looks like bunch of snap-it-together pieces of brown plastic, when it should look bronze. Ivar's trident looks like it was bought at a discount store and while Garretts weapons look cool, they also look plastic.

Recently "Mystic Knights" has taken on too many "Power Rangers" traits, if you watch the show, you'll know what I mean. As the series progresses, though, it should find its niche and perfect its style. Overall, it is a wonderful show that all ages should enjoy (most of my friends and I watch it and we're all 20+). The plot thickens and twists, though it gets a bit juvenile in places, and everything just keeps getting more interesting. It might be of some interest to fans of the movie "Willow" or the T.V. series "The Adventures of Sinbad". A lot of adventure, a dab of mystery, a dash of romance, a sprinkling of forces at nature... Check it out! (My Score: 7/10)

This show is a show that is great for adults and children to sit down together and watch. The stories are a little slow for adults but they are still good. There are lots of children in my family, boys and girls, and it is hard to get them all to agree on what to watch, but they always agree with each other when they want to watch the Mystic Knights. It is a wonderful show and I hope that they will continue to keep making it. All of the kids in my family and myself think that Vincent Walsh is the best of them all. We have seen that he has done lots of other work and think that he is doing a great job. We wish all of the actors, actresses, writers, directors, and producers the best of luck and would just like to say keep up the good work.

Yes, I realize this was not too true to Irish mythology, and that it was similar to Power Rangers...but to me, it was closer to the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers than the shows that came after.

I enjoyed the continuing story lines, and the acting. But FOX canceled it - and when they did, they left a cliffhanger. That is one of the most unfair things to do with a kids' series, but maybe they were hoping for the cult following that then develops - sometimes. This time, I guess the cult following wasn't big enough - there were internet petitions and fansites, but the show was never put back on the air.

This was Game of Thrones before there was one. Ahead of its time, and this created for kids.

I see a lot of reviews reviewing sets, cgi, costumes and weapons as "cheap".

Let's not forget that this was late 80's...

Compared to shows of its time, it was way ahead of them.

Compared to shows of today and you can tell that it has had some impact.

Too bad though that you can't find the dvd set at a reasonable price anymore.

It's all trippled or more.. :/ Would love to own it and watch it better quality than what pirate sites offer.

Also, it's thé perfect time for a more mature, or teen based, reboot.

I loved Mystic Knights from the first episode I've seen, which wasn't actually the first one of the show. Although I like the show so much, I was not satisfied with the finale. I always believed there was some other side within Maeve, which is not that bad, and that Rohan would manage it to wake this side of hers. Unfortunately the show ended bad for Maeve. And the second thing I really missed was the romantic end for Rohan and Deirdre. They'd make such a cute couple.

I remember tuning into this when it first premiered in the fall of 1998, and finding it to be a delightful surprise. It was from the creators of "Power Rangers," and each episode followed the tried-and-true "Power Rangers" formula, but unlike "Power Rangers," it managed to capture a sense of awe and wonder about it. I loved the armour of our Mystic Knights. So elegant. Just like magic armour in this kind of show should be depicted. Too bad that second season never materialized. I would have liked to see more in the Kingdom of Kels.

The Mystic Knights Of Tir-Na-Nog is fantastic. Some of the stories could be better, but I am sure that they will take care of that next season. The actors are really good, the fighting scenes are cool. The creatures could be a bit more lifelike though. All in all I love it! If I had to make a suggestion to the writers I would say, make the scripts for a broader age audience. Now don't get me wrong, I love what they did this season, but more interesting plots would not hurt. The season finale was way cool. I hope that next season starts out with the Knights battling Nemain and Mider. Now THAT would be good!

While expecting the standard-fare Saban half-hour of cheesy

merchandising, I was pleasantly surprised by the Mystic Knights

of Tir na Nog--Power Rangers this most certainly is /not/. The

costuming is fantastically appropriate, the storylines are based

on true Celtic legends, and the actors are a refreshing change

from the normal appearance-high/talent-poor casts Saban normally

comes up with. While the foley art leaves a little to be

desired, the choreography for the swordfighting is excellent and

a very welcome sight, considering the tendency for kids' action

shows to be merely punch-kick-jab cookie-cutter fare. My

personal kudo? Justin Pierre is not merely the used to make the

cast politically correct--Ivar has a historically accurate place

in the Kell company as a Moorish prince. This is a marvellously

well done show, and I highly recommended it to Celtic fans

I really enjoy how well the relationship between Fairies and Human are portrayed. Sure, they can seem hot tempered, stubborn, or stand-offish, but hey...they're not Humans after all. I liked when Angus and Rohen fight, Aideen tries to fix things for them. She leaves in a huff, but the guys were all sorts of rude to her. I'd have been sick of Humans as well. People say sometimes the show is contradictory.....but it IS geared to 6 year olds. Sure others like it as well, and we can analyze it to death like no kids ever would.

I like the way the writers altered Deidre's armor, so as to be more appealing to males. I bet they all know female armor of the times were more cumbersome and less revealing, and how it helps differentiate the men Knights from Deidre ;)

The stories are believable and fun. Most shows are summed up in a half hour, and the plot might seemed rushed, but suspending imagination gives us the opportunity to have fun. Isn't that we watch the show? The action is fast paced and believable. Some of the best on tv. The actors themselves are all charismatic, and are talented to boot! Kudos to the casting department for assembling this group of believable, entertaining group. I was boiling water the other day and the show came on, and I had to stop, because of all the excitement! :D

I'm confused by Deidre's "armor". (A short skirt and little bitty short sleeves?!? When the guys are covered head to toe?!?) If I were one of the enemy, I'd be aiming my weapons at her legs... but maybe she's wearing mystic stockings?

Also, did I miss something in the first episode? Maeve has said, several times, that her ancestors were cheated out of Kels, and that's why she's fighting to conquer it - if she's wrong, shouldn't somebody have said "Yoo-hoo, they weren't cheated, they lost it in a poker game!" Maybe that's how they'll end the series... the king will show Maeve her great-grandfather's marker, she'll slap her forehead in embarrassment, and call off her troops. :)

It's one of the aspects of Saban productions (cf Power Rangers) that I don't care for - that the villainesses are very strong, emotionally and physically, but the "good" girls are pretty much "yes-women" (that is, telling children that it's *bad* to have your own opinion and fight for what you want, but it's *good* to do what the boys say... it's not far from there to "math is hard, let's make cookies for the boys!").

And perhaps the production crew might think about a different method of putting the beasties on the screen - they're interestingly made, but don't mesh well with the live action.

The stories? Not believable. The action...slow and unrealistic. The actors? Pathetic.

This show has all the excitement that you could get from watching water boil. No, sorry! Watching water boil would be more exciting than this series.

Mystic Knights is the best TV series I've ever seen!!!! The actors and actresses are great, the scenery is really beautiful, the music is excellent, the characters names sound old-fashioned, the Mystic Armor is great, the Little People of Tir Na Nog are cute, King Fin Varra is great, Angus is so smart, not to mention really handsome, Rohan is very good, Deirdre isn't a damsel in distress, Ivar is really strong, King Conchobhar is a great king, Cathbad is a really wise counsel, Aideen is really sweet, Queen Maeve is soooooooooooooooooooooooo evil, Torque is a great fighter, it's just a really great show!!!!

When Queen Maeve threatens to conquer the ancient land of Kells with evil sorcery, four brave warriors: Rohan, Angus, Ivar and Princess Deirdre of Kells call upon their elemental forces of Fire, Earth, Water and Air to become the Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog and defend Kells from Maeve's cruel magic and monsters. An inspiring show with an uplifting message, great fun for kids. I particularly like the title music.

I love the show but I find that it's really contradictory in a lot of aspects. It seems it's taken what I've known about fairies and flushed them. I've always thought that they were really nice, but the fairies in the show always put humans down. If they're so superior with their magic and gold couldn't they also show a little compassion? If I could go back in time I'd love to try and break through Fin Varra's callouses and show him that some humans can appreciate a fairy for more than just their magic and gold. I could love that man for just who he is. And what about those boundries? Faeries and humans aren't ideal together? Yet in one episode Fin Varra fell for Deidre and Aideen is in love with Rohan. Call me crazy but I think that's wonderful. I'd drink that whole spring to get Fin Varra to fall for me.

I'm 37 and have always believed in fairies. I think that boundries between humans and fairies are stupid! I'd love to see a human and a fairy get together and get rid of the boundries. It's almost making the show seem prejudicial. Somebody better do some changes. For something that's usually uplifting I've been crying for four days.

The newer episodes seem to be even more contradictory. In the episode where the fairy stones are going out of alignment because the dark forces are coming has a couple of contradictions. The King of Kells has to sit on the throne of Tir Na Nog and vice versa. Fin Varra knows what's coming and yet he wants to party. He's at a loss to tell the Mystic Knights to go out and defend the kingdom. Conchobar gets the little people together with the Mystic Knights and saves Tir Na Nog and yet at the end of the episode Fin Varra says boundries are there for a reason. Humans and little people aren't ideal together. Wasn't their being and working together what saved both kingdoms?

In another newer episode Rohan and Angus got mad at each other and Aideen tries to tell Angus a story but he doesn't want to hear it at that time. Aideen then says that "I'm sick of humans today". Shouldn't she have said that she'll come back later when he cools off? Is the show trying to give the audience the impression that fairies are spiteful and vain or should they be telling them that fairies can be understanding and kind?

I wish I could do the script for a week and put down what I've been going over in my imagination. I'd love to give it more of an uplifting message.
