Radhe Krishna !!!
Abhishek198217 August 2018
Movie released in 1975 and I watched in 2018...interest came from "nadiya ke paar"...searching for another "rajshree & sachin combo" I got this one...and truly speaking...I am stunned...this classic is a combination of innocence, simplicity and true love...I personally think that this one is best potrayal of "Radha & Krishna" till now...Sachin is best suited for these kind of roles and so he is brilliant in this...and Sarika...what to say...she was full of innocence and cuteness...she looks damm beautiful and yet acted superbly..."Radha ka bhi Shyam vo toh Meera ka bhi Shyam" this song touches heart deeply...

by far best love story movie and my favourite now...great job rajshree...

Best of Indian Cinema
fivestaaar2 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
No doubt, this is the best of the Indian Cinema . A movie that depicts Indian culture and teaching in a true sense . The simplicity and innocence of the leading pair will charm you and these characters will remain with you for the rest of your life . Nothing artificial or fake in the movie . This movie is inspired by story of Lord Krishna and Radha described in religious text . Fabolous acting by the lead pair Sachin and Sarika. It's a masterpiece, a gem of Indian cinema from the best production house of India Rajshri Productions . Wish they make more movies like this these days

Khan Review - one of the gem from Rajshri
zkzuber15 November 2022
Remember as a five year old kid watching posters of GGC behind BEST buses during that time watching film poster was fun. Posters behind buses, on streets, on street light lamp post, than there use to be those hand made posters. Looking those posters was so much of fun, watching movies in theaters was like festivals. Well I saw this movie as a five year old kid remembered few scenes the songs were very good even as a kid I liked those songs. The title song, the bhajan, than others were all very good and very popular on radio. Again watched it lately , enjoyed the movie and yes the songs Sachin and sarika were just kids and I remember they were a popular pair but unfortunately did not get the kind of success one deserves with huge successful first movie. Sarika from my point of view was beautiful with flawless skin, beautiful cat eyes and best figure but still don't understand why she did not get big movies. Any ways a complete family entertainers you can enjoy with your family. Don't miss this Rajshri movie. Nostalgic.

A Beautiful adaptation that loses nerve in the end
rtoac19 June 2022
There are some stories which you once hear cling to your mind and soul. You start thinking about it, empathizing with it, yearning for it and even start living it at times. Rabindranath Tagore's immortal short story Atithi is one such

Geet Gaata Chal is a Hindi film adaptation of this story.. And created by none other than Rajshri films who are the best in setting up rustic story settings. Top it up with natural performers and memorable music and you've got a classic in your hands! If only and...

... Only if, if stay true to the original story to its very end. The movie was so well developed by recreating the Bengal Lake environs into Rajasthan's dry and breezy ways. All the characters and scenes were so developed all the while sticking to the original script from Tagore.

But it stopped short of going from good to great by manipulating the ending. So much so that it doesn't feel convincing or even true tu the protagonist's character. The creators intended to make the audience feel happy, but even without reading the original they feel something is amiss and quickly categorise it as a one-time watch.

While modifications like not having the friend as a child widow was ok, the ending conveyed the soul of the film.

Modifying it just took away the spirit of it.. It is still a great watch. I suggest to them viewer though to read the story after watching the film.. And watch the better and more recent recreation in "Stories by Rabindranath Tagore" of this immortal story.
