Obscurely fantastic

One of those rare movies that are more personal than mainstreamed. There's something about these movies that cant really be explained but can be appreciated by the appropriate crowd. For those who know what i mean, enjoy in good health. Jean Claude van Damme is one of those actors that doesn't get much mainstream love due to his lack of vocal acting. But while lacking in voice acting he overly makes up for in action and performance, not too mention more personally obscure story lines. I've noticed a trend in his films where he's lost all hope and love and then comes back again with only revenge on his mind and settles the score. Then the cycle repeats itself with his next movie. Slightly repetitive in nature but why try fixing something that never was broke. I'll always be a fan of his films and particularly this one about a hopeless soul who finds a new reason to live. After feeling that he has lost it all, the character Eddie Lomax (van damme), falls in love with a local diner woman in a small town somewhere out in the desert, could be nevada or arizona. Throughout the movie, van damme dispenses of all the criminals and lawbreakers in the town and saves the people who are being oppressed. Simple but motivating story about doing the right thing when forced to an extreme level.
