Yesterday, it was announced that Katherine Waterston (Alien: Covenant), Lili Taylor (The Conjuring), Chris Klein (American Pie), India Fowler (The Nevers), Suzanna Son (Red Rocket), Fina Strazza (Paper Girls), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), and Ella Rubin (The Idea of You) are set to star in Fear Street: Prom Queen, the continuation of the Fear Street film franchise that began with the release of the trilogy of Fear Street Part One: 1994, Fear Street Part Two: 1978, and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 on the Netflix streaming service back in the summer of 2021. Apparently yesterday was also the day when the project went into production, and Ariana Greenblatt from Barbie was spotted on the set in Toronto – and now OneTakeNews have been able to confirm that Greenblatt is in the cast.

Most of the buzzed-about network dramas of the 1990s have been largely forgotten these days.
ER and NYPD Blue might have been the talk of the town during the Clinton years, but in the Biden age, they're seldom discussed outside of retrospectives about what the cast members are up to these days.
Interestingly, the network shows from that era that have loomed largest in the public's memory are the ones that might broadly be described as "supernatural mysteries."
We're talking about Twin Peaks, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and, of course, The X-Files.
In fact, one could argue that no network drama from the past 30 years has proved as enduring and influential as the saga of Mulder and Scully.
The X-Files ran for nine seasons and inspired two feature films, a spinoff series (The Lone Gunmen), and a 2016 revival, with a second reboot rumored to be in the works courtesy of Black Panther director Ryan Coogler.

Not to sound like a stereotype, but I don't particularly get along with my mother-in-law. But the situation in the latest Netflix thriller, "Locked Up," is a great reminder that things could always be much, much worse. Despite little fanfare upon release and next to no promotion tied to it, "Locked In" has been consistently holding it down on the streamer's Top 10 list since it arrived on November 1. If you've not heard of the film, here's the official synopsis:
Katherine, a former Hollywood actor, wakes up in the hospital unable to move. She's been hit by a car and suffers from locked-in syndrome — her eyes are the only thing she's able to move. Through her nurse, Nicky, we find out what's led to Katherine's hospitalization. Katherine, communicating with her via letter board, blinks when Nicky reads the correct letter: She claims there's been a murder. Through flashbacks, we see snapshots...

The 2023 edition of Welcome to Rockville took place over four days from Thursday (May 18th) to Sunday (May 21st) in Daytona Beach, Florida. The massive rock fest was led by headliners Tool, Pantera, Slipknot, and Avenged Sevenfold, while also featuring dozens more notable acts.
The festival closed out on Sunday with Tool’s first show of the year. The performance was particularly notable in that singer Maynard James Keenan dressed in drag just days after Governor Ron DeSantis signed a new anti-drag bill into law. As for the music, the band played a brief 10-song set that included classics like “Forty Six & 2” and “Stinkfist” alongside newer tracks like “Fear Inoculum” and “Invincible.”
Elsewhere on Sunday, Incubus paused their set for a moment to help a distressed fan. The band performed with new touring bassist Nicole Row, filling in for Ben Kenney after he underwent surgery for a brain tumor. Other highlights included sets from Deftones,...

After languishing in development for years, the immensely popular “Halo” gaming franchise made the giant leap to streaming television earlier this year, exceeding expectations by shattering records and satiating millions of fans worldwide, who were eager to revisit their beloved characters and storylines.
“As a fan of the series, and having played the games for the last 20 years, it’s an incredibly daunting task to be put into the position of visual effects supervisor,” admits Dominic Remane, who was tasked with creating the expansive galaxy inhabited by the warring factions at the center of the “Halo” story with his army of visual artisans and technicians. For our recent discussion, he adds, “Working on the creative design of the characters and creatures and trying to stay faithful to what the audience is expecting to see, but still have a slight twist and create our own canon to a degree, gives us...

"Our survival depends on her. Let's get to work." Netflix unveiled the official trailer for a post-apocalyptic survival thriller titled Awake, made by Canadian director Mark Raso. This will debut streaming on Netflix early next month. Chaos ensues after a global event wipes out all electronics and takes away humankind’s ability to sleep. But Jill, an ex-soldier with a troubled past, may hold the key to a cure in the form of her own daughter. This setup mashes up a few sci-fi concepts - kind of like Bird Box meets Children of Men, with humanity going crazy because they can't sleep, but one young girl can. Gina Rodriguez stars, with Ariana Greenblatt, Frances Fisher, Shamier Anderson, Finn Jones, Lucius Hoyos, Gil Bellows, Barry Pepper and Jennifer Jason Leigh. This looks like it's packed with all the usual apocalyptic movie tropes - aggressive military, crazy people everywhere. Looks entertaining, but not that smart.

Movies about disasters have evolved quite a bit since their heyday twenty-five years ago. Since 1997’s volcanic one-two punch of “Dante’s Peak” and “Volcano” and 1998’s similar two-fister of “Deep Impact” and “Armageddon,” the genre has both expanded its scale and deepened its scope. “The Day After Tomorrow” and “2012” show the entire planet devastated by cataclysm.

Chances are, if you’re a longtime fan of Halo, you’ve been interested to see how the upcoming TV series will fare. That being said, when it comes to the highly-anticipated small screen adaptation, one’s level of devotion is not put to the test so much as one’s amount of patience.
It’s been over six years since 343 Industries announced it would be producing a live-action series alongside Steven Spielberg. The show has been through development hell since then – at one point, District 9 director Neill Blomkamp was attached to the project. Then, last year, Kyle Killen was hired as showrunner and executive producer, with Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) to direct and produce. A few unceremonious months later, Wyatt stepped down from the series due to scheduling conflicts.

“Brits don’t like boasters,” Rob Lowe’s high-flying U.S. cop Bill Hixon is told in the first trailer for ITV drama Wild Bill. He responds by calling East Lincolnshire a “godforsaken cabbage patch,” which nicely sums up the fish-out-of-water series.
The West Wing star plays Hixon, who is appointed Chief Constable of the East Lincolnshire Police Force in the UK in the ITV series, which launches in June. The series is produced by 42, Shiver and Anonymous Content.
Lowe’s Hixon is an analytics expert, a Moneyball-for-police type and he is in Lincolnshire to help bring down the crime rate, while also dealing with his troubled young daughter.
The show was created by The Hunted writer David Griffiths and then Awake creator Kyle Killen came on board with Silent Witness writers Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble. Lowe acts as an exec producer as well as on-screen star.

E3 2019 is almost here, which means it's time to make some predictions as to what we'll see at this year's show!
E3 2019 will bring many of the biggest companies in gaming under one roof for a week of exciting reveals and surprise announcements. Microsoft, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Square Enix, and more will bring all of their upcoming titles, including some we haven't even seen yet, to the public. The question is what exactly might these companies announce?
As I do every year, I've made some predictions as to what we might see at E3 this year. Yes, some scenarios are more likely than others, and there will probably be a few surprises I never even saw coming, and that's the fun of E3 predictions. It's the most exciting time of the year if you're a gamer and here are a few things that might make E3 2019 the best expo yet!

Canadian actor Pablo Schreiber, best known for his roles in both “American Gods” and “Orange Is The New Black”, has been cast as The Master Chief in the highly-anticipated “Halo” tv series coming to Showtime.

Fans of the Xbox video game series “Halo” have waited a long time for an adaptation. Showtime announced a series version almost a year ago, but the show has finally found its Master Chief. Pablo Schreiber will don the Spartan uniform as the heroic lead in the sci-fi saga. He’s currently known for playing prison guard Pornstache in “Orange is the New Black” and the leprechaun Mad Sweeney in “American Gods,” among other roles in TV and film.
The “Halo” games are first-person shooters set in the 26th century, when the human race battles an alien species known as the Covenant for control of a mysterious super-weapon, the artificial ring-shaped worlds that give the series its title. The TV version will “weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future,” according to Showtime’s press release.

I was excited for the Steven Spielberg-produced Halo series when director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) was attached to direct it. He ended up dropping out to to scheduling conflicts, and now he’s been replaced by director Otto Bathurst, the filmmaker behind the recent Robin Hood movie reboot.

Showtime’s impending “Halo” TV show is still shrouded in a layer of mystery: How exactly the series is going to adapt the mammoth video game franchise is something of an unknown at this point. But at least now audiences know who to expect behind the camera. The network announced on Thursday that Otto Bathurst will be directing the series. No stranger to helping get genre fare off the ground, Bathurst was also the director for the very first installment of “Black Mirror,” the porcine nightmare “The National Anthem.” In addition to his work on that anthology series, Bathurst also directed the opening trio of episodes of “Peaky Blinders.”
