A valiant effort
cineye12 December 2003
This film was certainly not the greatest film I've ever seen. It was terribly uneven. The cinematography was very rough bordering on studentish. The first half hour was extremely funny but after that it really did run out of steam. I think it was a valiant effort by a first time director. It involves a huge cast and I'm sure that was difficult to manage. Perhaps the director should have chosen a less ambitious situation to use as his first feature. Still, I give him credit for trying. And it isn't an altogether unpleasant viewing. I think the script was full of witty dialog and with a proper budget no doubt it could have been polished up a bit. It's definitely worth a see.

A film with real Indy spirit

very funny, very enjoyable exciting independent film that sends up modern consumer pop culture. The script is witty and intelligent, from the new twist it gives to an old plot to the numerous Beatle innuendo it incorporates into its story line. It had me laughing out loud throughout. The pacing is a bit off at times. The story sputters around the middle but manages to pick up steam again towards the end. But the ambitious scope of the picture allows you to excuse any minor problems. It is refreshing to see a low budget filmmaker steer away from the over used two people in a room scenario and actually attempt to make a movie with numerous locations and many actors.

Rough around the edges but very funny

This film suffers from the same problem as many low budget first time features - the acting is a little uneven and the pacing doesn't always hit the mark. Still, I found it to be a very funny commentary on the whole fast food consumer culture. The cinematography was certainly rough and the acting occasionally was stretched but the dialogue was very clever and the script was well written. It was a true diamond in the rough.

gives Canada a bad name

Movies like this give Canada a bad reputation on the world stage. It looks and feels like a bad student production. I guess it's supposed to be funny, but it isn't. If you want to see a bad Canadian student film that is worth watching, have a look at "Cannibal Girls". Mind you, that was made by Ivan Reitman, who started his career with this one.
