  • Two young men sit on the bed of a woman who sleeps with labored breathing, then place a plastic bag over her head until she stops breathing (we later see this scene again and watch a young man feed a woman yogurt that has apparently been laced with poison).
  • A young man is awakened, a pillowcase is put over his head and he is taken to a group shower stall where he is repeatedly poked in the stomach with broom handles.
  • A young man punches and pounds on a woman's corpse.
  • A man punches a young man in the face and then pounds on him when he falls to the floor (we see his bloody and bruised eye, nose and mouth).
  • A woman punches a young man, knocks him to the ground and beats on him (we see his bloody nose).
  • We see a woman's body being zipped into a body bag.
  • A woman lies unconscious after apparently having taken a bad batch of drugs, and a woman passes out in a bathtub apparently high on something.
  • We see a woman sitting on the head of her maid while she reviews her expectations.
  • A man hits a young man on the head, twice. A woman hits her son with her gloves, yells at him and drags him down a hallway.
  • A young man is hit on the head by keys tossed from a window.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Heroin is used off-screen. Intravenous scabs are seen on an arm, and someone is seen passed out following use of tainted heroin.
  • Drugs (presumably cocaine) is sold a few times.

  • People are shown smoking marijuana, cigarettes, clove cigarettes and cigars, taking prescription drugs,
  • One woman has tracks on her arm from shooting up.
  • A woman rolls a joint and then begins to smoke it.
  • We see a man in a drug-induced stupor while in a mental institution.
  • A young man is employed as a drug courier.
  • A young man walks up to a kid on the street and tells him that she has a "dime bag" and that gets his attention (and he makes some drug related remarks).
  • We then see a young man carefully rolling a joint and a man makes various humorous remarks about her technique, what it means about her, and compares her petite joints to bigger ones. We then see her smoking it as they walk through a park and a kid then wants to take a hit from it. She also comments on taking time off from beer, diet pills and other things.
  • A kid goes to an apartment where he repeatedly gives a code for drugs over the intercom (one of the girls inside says that's what it is to the other who didn't know what he was talking about). One of the women then eats brownies that might be laced with pot (we never know either way). Igby later delivers drugs to another couple (asking if they want him to cut the drugs).
  • A man and another man comment on their mother's taking of so many drugs that she's built up an intolerance for the poison she's taken.
  • A son throws some of his prescription pills at Mimi after making a toast. She in turn downs one with a glass of wine.
  • A kid smokes a joint and then tries to hide evidence of that (the smell, the red eyes, etc.) from his military school superiors.
  • A medical internist comments on a woman having prescriptions from four different doctors who are unaware of her receiving drugs from the others and mentions that she pops speed like candy.
  • The characters drink alcohol. Plenty of cigarettes and marijuana is smoked.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Two boys help their ill mother to die, first with poison then suffocated with a plastic bag.

  • A character intentionally consumes 'poison.'
  • A man (Igby's father) is presumed to be on drugs, he goes into a shower and starts acting crazy and hits a shower door and it shatters.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Young men assist their mother in suicide due to her illness. She is fed poison, then suffocated by a bag being put around her head. While played more as comic/sad, it might still be unsettling.
  • After a man has a mental breakdown in front of his child, he is seen with blood being cut from the glass and he has a very bloody leg and arm.
