Sex & Nudity

    • A woman discusses with a man that she wants to be impregnated so that she can have a child before she dies. She goes into some anatomical details about the timing at which she will have "optimum ovulation," but it is not graphic or meant to be gross. The man jokes about a three-way at the end of the discussion.
    • A penis is seen on a wooden Native-American sculpture or a naked man.

Violence & Gore

    • There is some generally disturbing talk about death and destruction within the city the film takes place in. None of it is graphic, just rather depressing.
    • A man threatens the people holding the camera with a hammer or mallet of some kind. Nothing violent happens, for they flee before the man does anything.

Profanity

    • "F**k" is said around a total of 32 times.
    • "S**t" is said around a total of 16 times.
    • "Damn" is used once.
    • There are 9 instances of religious exclamations, some of which are very profane and may be offensive to some viewers.
    • "Hell" is said around a total of 4 times.
    • "Ass"/"Assh**e" is said around a total of 4 times.
    • "Bitch" is used once.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

    • Several people are seen smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol throughout the whole film.
    • A brief mention of perscription drugs, in a medical sense.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

    • The whole film has a dark, depressing, and dismal tone. The plot centers around the fact that some type of plague has wiped out the majority of San Francisco's population, and possibly the whole world's population.
    • There is one violent scene that is startling and unexpected.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

    • A man's dead body is found. It is implied that someone from a certain group of people trying to survive took up the role as an executioner and killed the man (he was seen as a threat to the community) or he committed suicide. We just see his dead body lying on a dirt mound with no blood visible.
    • A man is shot in the wilderness. We see blood all over his body and he yells in pain. This is a very tense scene because we never see the shooter and the cameraman, as well as everyone with him, is trying to help the man, and themselves, to safety. The man is later shot off-screen by one of the other men in the group, and it is implied that he died from this. This whole entire fiasco is very tense and unexpected.
