If you're looking for a kung fu movie or even a sexy movie this is not for you. There's only a brief topless scene and well covered bedroom scenes but what a plot line! Peipei goes to her boss explaining that her work has suffered because her sister Shanghan has cancer. Her boss suggests a deal. He'll take care of sis going to the US for treatment if Peipei becomes his bedmate. He has his driver sort of warm her up (it's explained this is how he gets aroused)then he gets rid of the driver and jumps in bed with her. Oh he also wears giant sunglasses to hide his mutilated eyes (they look like they've been burned) which causes Peipei to become unhinged and sent to a mental hospital! Peipei also promises her dying mother that she'll always take care of Shanghan. When she gets out of the mental hospital, Peipei is now very rich and married (it's not clear if its the boss or where the boss is but the driver is around lusting after her). Sis returns from the US cured and comes to live with her. Sis discovers Peipei listens to a record constantly called Golden Bird (about a golden bird trapped in a cage get the symbolism?)and arranges for the handsome male singer to sing at her birthday to Peipei who falls in love with the singer. The singer is in love with Shanghan and to avoid Peipei going off the deep end again refuses the singers love. Peipei tricks the singer into sleeping with her which drives the singer away and back to Shanghan. When the singer basically accuses Peipei of being a slut and Shanghan of being pure, Peipei first tries to kill her by cutting the brakes on the car. When both the singer and Shanghan survive, Peipei begins an affair with the driver and gets him to hire 4 "hoodlums" to "service" her (all at once!). Finally driven insane again by her imagining Shanghan and the singer together, Peipei has the 4 "hoodlums" try to all do Shanghan at once and gets the singer to come and watch to prove Shanghan isn't the pure girl he thinks she is. The movie ends with Peipei killing the 4 "hoodlums" with a pickax(!) and being captured by the police we can guess to be carted off to the asylum. What all this has to do with Sexy Playgirls I have no idea, but it's easily one of the most unusual Shaw Bros films I've ever seen. The two female leads are pretty in a 70's way but the most shocking thing for Americans might be Shanghan's quite hairy armpits! Almost no kung fu but several fights that are more in the traditional way of fighting. I think this is available on vcd.
