Cruz and Vilches need checkups to study their respective health conditions; Cruz on her pregnancy and Vilches after his tumor operation. Vilches is more worried when he notices that he is losing mobility in his hand. Both will receive fresh news after their evaluations. Meanwhile, Aimé presents himself to Maca as a patient and when he has nothing serious, he requests a discharge so he can take a rest with Mari Ángeles. Maca does not rely on the careless analysis of the doctor and decides to insure. In addition, in a luxury apartment, three boys organize a wild party that lands them in the hospital and the SAMUR must act quickly to save their lives. Begoña continues to flirt with her boss. The nurse has a gift prepared for Dávila that goes to make it rejuvenate a few years. The personnel of the hospital starts suspecting. They offer work to Rober's girlfriend for one month in London.

Javier asks Cruz to make Laura Héctor's resident without speaking before with her, while Héctor and Eva argue about the relationship between Laura and Javier. Firefighter Pablo remains obsessed in spite of saving Rober's life; Rober speaks with Jero in order that they throw him of the body and the boy finishes for committing suicide. Laura watches one of her neighbors, Antonio, pushing another neighbor down the stairs; he threatens her not to tell what she saw. A companion of Vilches in Oncology is on the verge of dying and Cruz tries to convince him in order that he will see it. Begoña and Dávila go out to dinner and coincide with Maca and Esther, who are dining with Maca's mother. Carlos starts working at the hospital; an organ-transplant operation takes place in the hospital while the surgeon is angry.

Maca considers posing with Esther for an article on gay marriage. Teresa wants to know the sex of Cruz's baby to know what color bootees to knit. Laura does not feel capable of operating on her neighbor, who has been stabbed and eventually dies. Héctor, who is thinking of taking a trip with Gabriela to Buenos Aires, tries to help her, as does her best friend Eva. Rober, whose girlfriend is still in London, is reluctant to answer questions from Carlos for the report on firefighter Pablo's death. They attend to a pregnant woman who had an accident in the park; her daughter had been chosen genetically to save her anemic brother. Aimé has not reported to work because he is at a feast with former companions of the Institute, but their drinking gets out of hand as does their reminiscing, leading to a battle that brings Aimé and two of his wounded companions to Urgencia, because of discords of the past reappearing 20 years later.

Maca and Esther decide to do the article. While Esther turns into a heroine in her neighborhood and her mother in delighted to see her in a magazine, Maca has problems with a patient's mother who does not want her to attend to her daughter. It's a chaotic day at Central: the entire personnel is on strike and the doctors of Urgencias refuse to discharge patients that they haven't treated, so patients overwhelm the corridors and stalls. A windscreen wiper working high in an office block suddenly experiences strong chest pains, and in fortuitous form he thrusts his cleaning tools into the emptiness; just below in the street, a man walks by talking on his mobile, and the suspended worker falls on his head, cleaning tools and all.

Begoña listens to Esther questions whether or not she is really in love with Dávila; Begoña talks with her boss and puts things more clearly to her. Vilches doesn't think Cruz should be put on night guard while she's pregnant; he also gets a call that Alejandro and Guillermo have tried to steal an examination. On his return to Central he finds an injured, drugged taxi driver who actually stole the taxi under the influence. Héctor, while in charge of two students and showing them how Urgencias functions, attends to a woman who doesn't accept his treatment because of what she has read about medicine on the Internet. Teen brothers Pablo and Vicen, pretend to be asleep when their father checks on them; when he leaves, Pablo suggests looking out their window into that of a neighbor woman who walks around undressed with no curtains or shades drawn. They then decide to go down to the street and be raised to the pen of a derrick to get a better view. They do get that better view, but after mere seconds they both fall to the ground from several meters in height. Pablo gets a simple sprain, but Vicen falls down the well, and the SAMUR unit must rescue him. In addition, older couple Jose and Maria, come to the hospital because the man has a pain in the leg, but he makes himself a pain in the staffers' necks with his omnipotence and disrespectful treatment of his wife and the female staffers; Cruz cannot believe that his wife has put up with him for so long. The diagnosis indicates that Jose has contracted syphilis from his habit of frequenting prostitutes, so the staffers must treat him and test Maria to see if he has given it to her.

A gas leak provokes confusion in a battered-women's center with the result of two internal wounds that they are deposited in the Central. One of them, beside showing signs of recent mistreatment, is pregnant; the other one wants to see her husband. Javier and Laura attend to a fruiterer who has been punctured by an exotic spider upon opening a box that came from Brazil. In opposition to what the doctors think, the patient believes that he is dying and decides to be honest with his family. Héctor continues to mentor students Ana and Raúl's guardianship; they are now analyzing an Argentinian who insists that he knows the doctor, but he does not remember of what. Amador, the patient, has damaged lungs, and it is Ana, not Héctor, who succeeds with the diagnosis. At night Héctor, who isn't in his best moment, has dinner with Eva and they spend the night together. Gabriela hears a conversation in Central's cafeteria and notices the relationship between her father Dávila and Begoña. Finally, Carlos and Laura prepare the trip to Guatemala, but despite the fact that they have it calculated for one month, the unforeseen always arises to foil plans. One of these unexpected misadventures provokes that Laura must solve a problem immediately and leave a patient with a stomach-ache and when another doctor comes, the patient has disappeared. Finally, Carlos is stabbed and Javier leaves for Guatemala with Laura. Vilches tries to reduce Cruz's workload.

Héctor's patient dies. He was attended by the students Adrián and Ana. Vilches insists that Cruz take her maternity leave; then she is on the verge of being contagious of chickenpox. Javier and Laura go to bed in Guatemala after attending to a childbirth and supporting a girl. Eva tells Héctor that she does not go away to ameter in his relationship with Gabriela. Maca's father joins Central. Teresa is interested in whether Esther and Maca already have their wedding suits. Rober's girlfriend is in Madrid and does not warn him. Aimé and Mari Ángeles tell Nuria that they are together again. Rusti continues with the bets. Carlos attends to the case of an abducted man.

Esther goes to the wedding of a hospital nurse whose bridegroom is attacked because his ex, whom he had infected with AIDS, has just died. Laura wants to know what will happen now that she and Javier have returned from Guatemala. He tells her that he loves her, but that the last thing he wants to do is hurt his wife and baby son. Héctor faces the wrongful-death committee and is absolved, but still feels guilty, as does student Ana, who decides to give up on a medical career although Vilches tries to change her mind. Cruz interviews possible candidates for her substitution during her maternity leave, and finally Vilches takes charge. Begoña and Dávila are practically living together and she takes charge of the plumbing.

Cruz is going to take maternity leave, but is still working and doesn't feel well, so she goes home--where she finds Guillermo and Alejandro with their girlfriends. Cruz begins to have contractions and the boys help her until Eva and Rober arrive with the ambulance; finally she gives birth to daughter María. Maca's father Pedro will be operated on at the hospital and Esther doesn't feel comfortable; Pedro and Amparo, Maca's mother, disapprove of Esther and Maca's relationship and future marriage, and each parent treats their daughter's partner coldly. Héctor sends flowers to Gabriela, but she doesn't accept them or forgive his infidelity. Héctor confesses to Laura that he spent the night with another woman and, although he doesn't name names, she guesses that it was Eva. Laura she spent Laura and Javier continue to see each other, but she asks Javier to leave Belén. Begoña wants to go living with Dávila, but he thinks it's still too soon.

After the baby's birth, Vilches must fulfill his obligations as a father and at the same time direct the service of Urgencias. The situation is difficult for him and he finally asks Dávila to find a substitute for him. Meanwhile, the executives of a construction company have been invited to an amateur bullfight. Two of them, Elvira and Sergio, discuss with their chief to be done by one since it would suppose an ascent. While she speaks heatedly with her superior, her opponent chooses to demonstrate his value jumping to the turn and doing a few passes. Suddenly, the chief starts suffocating, and to the surprise of all, Sergio gets confused and is attacked by the heifer. Héctor comes to work with his daughter Daniela, since he couldn't find anyone to look after her; her head hurts, and within a few hours she has a high fever, and Maca and Héctor can't figure out what's wrong. This misadventure will provides an opportunity to get Héctor and Gabriela face-to-face. Javier tries to recover his relation with Laura, but she proves to be reticent, since she is sure that Javier will not leave his wife. After supporting a chat with one of the patients, Laura will start clarifying her ideas.

A secondary-school teacher argues with the director of the school center after having problems with several undisciplined pupils. On her drive home, her vehicle leaves the road, giving several returns of bell. Central receives a visit from a Ministry of Health employee to check the protocols of transplants are fulfilled. Oliver, the child to whom a hepatic encephalopathy was diagnosed and who needed a liver transplant, is the perfect patient to verify that the medical equipment carries out the process correctly; also, Héctor's daughter Daniela remains in the hospital and meningitis is diagnosed. She seems to improve, but Maca and Héctor suspect that the disease has affected her ears, because she is losing her hearing. Eva has powerlessly observed Laura's discouragement, and she finally asks Laura to open her eyes and no longer allow Javier to play with her feelings. Rusti's economic problems increase with his interest in gambling.

A fire in a psychiatric clinic provokes a collapse in the services of the Central and reveals a dark plot against the patients. Among the men injured in the fire is Marcos, an inmate of the clinic, who affirms that the patients are being poisoned. The clinic director roundly denies this, but Javier distrusts her because she seems to be hiding something. Meanwhile, Alonso, who received a mitral valve without complications, returns with more heart problems. Aimé believes that the motive might be the pollution of the operating rooms, which would put to the hospital in a very delicate situation. In addition, Héctor warns that his daughter Daniela is losing her hearing because of the meningitis, but he hesitates to operate on her, fearing that the operation will go wrong. Maca and Dávila advise him to take a decision of immediate form or it will be too late to help her. To the hospital comes Jesús, a 60-year-old seropositive man. The analysis indicate that he might have suffered a poisoning for an inappropriate dose of some medicine. His wife is the one in charge of giving him his medicine, so she becomes a suspect. Vilches is at the expense of Jesús' case and he will try to discover the truth on the circumstances of his disease. Rusti asks Vilches for help after being ruined on the stock market. Aimé receives a job offer in Bruxels.

It's Esther and Maca's wedding day. Esther spends the day with her mother and her cousin, who is also her hairdresser, and receives the special visit of her grandmother. Maca also receives a visit, from her and Teresa's ex-girlfriend Azucena. Also, her parents finally agree to attend her wedding. All of their hospital colleagues go to the wedding except Rusti, whose daughter is ill at the hospital; Cruz, who has no babysitter for her daughter; Carlos, who forgets about it; and Laura, who goes but sees Belén and Javier kissing and with their baby, and returns to the hospital, where she meets Carlos and they decide to have dinner together. Begoña sells the guard in order to be able to go to the wedding. Before, has asked Dávila for help, but he had said he couldn't do anything. Aimé decides not to accept the job in Belgium but to continue working at Central. Laura ends the residence in 3 months and has begun to sell curriculum to other hospitals.

Héctor is in Quiroga making the Camino de Santiago and meets Marisa, a Galician doctor who has another view of medicine. The investigation of the infection continues at the hospital and Begoña tells a journalist about what happened. Javier has left Belén and tells Laura, but she thinks that their relationship has finished and she doesn't want to get back with him. Rusti has been attacked and is at hospital fighting for his life.
