Sex & Nudity

  • Some of the following may or may not be censored depending on the version watched.
  • In episode 1, there is a brief shot of children playing together naked. Nothing is shown.
  • In episode 15, a girl sucks a scrape on a boy's arm, claiming it to be a remedy her mother taught her. Throughout the episode she shows romantic interest toward him.
  • In episode 21, a teenage boy opens the door to his sister's room and sees her in her undergarments, much to his shock. Later she tackles him and removes all his clothes off-screen in order to do laundry. A similar situation happens later on when she strips a boy of his wet clothes to prevent him from catching a cold. She stares at his body for a moment before getting embarrassed and running off. This scene often reoccurs in flashbacks.
  • In episode 25, a girl puts on a low-cut dress, remarking that the chest is too big for her. Later, when talking to a boy, she obliviously leans forward on her hands and knees until he notices the amount of cleavage she's showing and asks her to fix her dress.
  • One girl is implied to be a prostitute. She wears a low-cut dress and frequently flirts with a male character, trying to get him to sleep with her but always unsuccessful. In episode 26, he pulls her into a bed with him, but nothing ends up happening and he leaves.
  • In episode 27, a boy lies on top of an unconscious girl in order to keep her from freezing to death, both of them stripped of their clothes. The bed covers are up, but sometimes the girl's breasts are visible.
  • In episode 33, a girl interrupts a couple on their wedding night. Nothing is shown - only the two answering the door wrapped in bed sheets.
  • In episode 41, a young man and woman, taking shelter in a dilapidated shack, remove their drenched clothes with their backs turned, and sleep next to each other naked. Nothing is shown.
  • Various kissing throughout the series.
  • A girl's dress is ripped apart by thorny bushes and dogs, reducing her to little more than her undergarments.
  • A man kisses a woman, pushing her onto her back. She is wearing a bath robe, which becomes disarrayed in the movement, exposing one of her breasts.

Violence & Gore

  • Hand-to-hand combat as well, the use of weapons like knives, rocks, and guns, and dangerous encounters with wolves, dogs, and sharks. Blood is sometimes visible.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Various scenes in bars and characters drinking. Some become noticeably drunk and pass out. A girl eats a tart infused with alcohol and goes tipsy. A dog often drinks alcohol until it's drunk.
  • In episode 43, a girl drugs a young man's wine with sleeping powder.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A woman dies some time after experiencing a heart attack.
  • After receiving a bullet wound to the head, a young man suffers from severe headaches and is seen writhing and screaming. In addition, he is locked in a tower where he is tortured.

  • In episode 33, a girl who is disguised as a boy gets her shirt ripped, exposing a breast and her true gender to all around.
  • In episode 44, a young man attempts suicide and is shown naked and unconscious, draining the blood of his slit wrists into a bath. Only buttocks shown.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A flashback occurs of a woman trapped under a fallen tree in a thunderstorm. It is later implied that she died.
  • A character is revealed to have tuberculosis. He is frequently seen coughing, sometimes with blood, until he ends up bedridden and nearly dies.
  • A character saves a little girl from being swept downstream in a boat, but not without injuring his leg on a sharp rock and suffering internal damage trying to stop the boat. After a few days bedridden, he dies.
  • In episode 45, a man is thrown off his horse onto the cobblestone street and is killed instantly.
