A delicate teenage dream in a new aural world.

The story is based on a young deaf girl who feels like a fish out of water in her own home. And so decides to run away.

Who didn't dream of being running away as a teenager when things were difficult to understand at home.

Centering the story on a deaf character allows the director to envelope us in sound which creates a unique experience and for me at least helped me imagine for the first time what it must be like to be without hearing.

For some reason audio is often neglected in favour of video in most shorts and even many feature films.

The young British actress delivers subtle emotion start to the heart. A simple and beautiful story. A director to watch.

a drama: one night in the life of a deaf teenage girl

Wonderful short movie about a deaf teenager. Sound is one of the unique aspects of the film - one gets the impression of what it might be like to be deaf. I was pretty impressed with the manner in which the night time sequences were shot. The movie is quite lyrical matched with imaginative editing. I viewed the movie at the Cork Film festival last year where it won the Claire Lynch award for best short film.
