You must see this film!
bo-18225 February 2007
At the insistence of an environmentalist friend, I settled in to watch this film with a book in hand in case it was as boring as I'd expected. To my surprise, I was completely drawn in and watched it all the way through- twice! The film is well-researched, heartwarming, and beautifully shot. It's witty, warm, and ironic at the same time. It does a great job of telling a personal story against the backdrop of a political one, which few such films have been able to do well. It's suspenseful, with surprising plot twists (for a documentary). It is a well-told (and not corny) story of the strength and will of the underdog in battle with big government, and above all, of the human spirit to survive against all odds. This father-and-son team has really nailed it! It's a must-see- and what's more, it gets better with each watching!

One More Dead Fish is a documentary about globalization and it's harmful effects on small communities and the environment.

This story about Canadian fishermen who protest the government's promoting policies of the destructive techniques of big business fisheries highlights the bigger, universal issues of globalization and environmental preservation. This is a really powerful film and has such international resonance. As we begin to understand how everyone's actions are interconnected in this world, you realize how important stories like these are. Especially as people are paying more an more attention to globalization and environmental issues we must hear and tell these stories! This film will inspire you to fight back and work for change. Above all, you'll never see the fishing industry the same way again.
