Excellent acting and film writing quality in an independent film!
mdd42718 September 2003
This film, based on the life story of Michael J. Holland, the author, director and star is a truly memorable piece of film work. The acting, writing and direction are of such a high quality that it won the Best Drama award when it premiered at the New York International Independent Film Festival in 2002. The story of a man who has been traumatized by a tragic family life and turns to living on the streets is sensitive and touching. Especially moving is the true to life story of how his mentor, played by Michael Durack, risked his own life to help Coby (the character's name in the film) overcome his fear of society and go on to create a significant life in normal society. I cannot recommend this film strongly enough! See for yourself why it won a Best Drama award and also "Best Buzz" award in New York.
